CCCC @ LCC: Premier game, Sept 10, 2011 - Reported by Raj Chitikila(LCC)

CCCCs most important game of the seasonwith their championship hopes on the linegot off to a muddled
start before a single ball was bowled. The teams arrived at Longmont only to find that even the sprinklers had
come out to enjoy the beautiful day. After a hurried consultation with the umpires, it was decided to move the
game to Cornerstone Park. The game began at noon, limited to 35 overs each.

LCC won the toss and elected to bat. As had been the case most of the season, LCCs batsmen had their
moments, but were unable to click on all cylinders. Ramesh ended up the highest scorer of the day with a patient
35. For CCCC, Arun and Sid bowled beautifully, getting key breakthroughs just as it appeared LCC was going to
accelerate. LCCs innings was wrapped up in the 31st over for just 93.

In response, CCCC got off to a cautious start. Rama and Gautaum saw off the opening bowlers without taking
any risks; however, in came Bodhayan and out went Rama thanks to a quick Bodha in-swinger that took a
couple of stumps with it before stopping. For the next two hours, the momentum swung back and forth. CCCCs
Suri (14) and Arun (19) took calculated risks amidst two key partnerships. But LCC fought back furiously led by
Raj (3 wickets), Jay (2), and Bodha (2). The team took every catch that came its way, including a blinder by
Bodha at slip to dismiss Cecil, perhaps the catch of the year.

Fittingly, given how many close games CCCC had won this year, the match came down to the last 2 overs.
CCCCs Sam and Shankar struck some timely slogs to win the match with just one over to spare.

Man of the Match: Arun Tholudurwas rightly declared MoM for his superb captains effort with both
bat (19) and ball (6-2-9-3) to win his team the Premier championship.
