The Ultimate

Beatles Live Collection

Compiled by coltturkey and posted on BootlegZone
Forum between July and November 2016

Here is my idea of an upgrade of the Great Purple Chick Live Chronicle Series.
So many years are gone since them and many new upgrades are coming to
light. Fab Production had done a good upgrade, but the Fab Collection are a few
years from now and we have find more at the time.

And because of being a nice idea, astronaut wanted to do a nice artwork for
this. First volume is inspired by the great Tony Booth, Beatles Cavern official
artist.

Volume 01: Scream As Loud As You Can - July 1957 - October 1963
It's my first try, I choose the working title: Scream As Loud As You Can.
The Star Club Gigs i left out, 'cause (as you say) the Lord Reith Zu Laut! is core.
Simply take this one and you have the - so far - best version.
I have not done any remastering, really. I just complied this from the best
sources I have. I just normalized the tracks for a better viewing.

FROM ME TO YOU, 16 MAY 1963 - TELEVISION THEATRE, LONDON "POPS &

JENNY": my Version is about 20 Seconds longer than the known (like the one
from Purple Chick)

The It's The Beatles on "Two Said Will, Two Said Don't" is the same as on "BBC
Archives" and based on the Material which murrays15 shared on "The Empire
Strikes Back". "Two Say Will..." is a little upgrade from one very talented Man.

Murrays15 has send me an update of From Me To You from Bournemouth

Concert.

New Source for The Cavern Rehearsal (The Long And Winding Road HMC, which
based on the great MasterJedi Source)

Volume 02 - The rest of you just rattle your jewellery November - 1963
- December 1963
From the legendary Royal Variety Performance to It's The Beatles. There are a
few rare Tracks like the ones from Dublin and Carlisle.
Track 24: From Me To You. New unbooted Source from murrays15 and corrected
Artwork.

Volume 03 - January 1964 - Febuary 1964: Have Some Fun Tonight

The Boys are giving their second London Palladium Concert and flew over
France for a couple of Concerts. I Want To Hold Your Hand reaches Number 1 in
the US Charts and in Front of 73 Million viewers they appeared on the first Ed
Sullivan Show.

I had to remasted some tracks for Volume 3, even the main tracks were taken
from Misterclaudel and HMC. For the first Time we have the complete Outro of
Long Tall Sally from a Newsreel and the first Ed Sullivan Show in the best yet
quality. And we have a hidden track (Not been added to the artwork). It's one of
my fav Interviews from "Bulletin From Britain" from January 1964. It's your
choice to put it on the CD.

Volume 04 Shup Up! Paulies Talking February 1964

The Lads playing at the legendary Washington DC Concert and at the second
Ed Sullivan Show.

The Washington Concert is, not only for me, one of their best concerts ever
been taped on video. Since the concert were online on Itunes, we have the
complete Concert in really good quality. For this I had several sources, but I
take at the end an PAL Version of the Misterclaudel DVD called The First
American Concert. The source for the Ed Rehearsal was in no doubt: I choose
the newest HMC Release. But for the main broadcast I take an older Release
from Mirror Spock, which sounds for me - better than the HMC Release. Have
fun!

I replaced the special and exclusive source for the Washington Concert from
the Great Bootleg "You Know What To Do" from the remastered RMW Version.

the Second Broadcast from Ed Sullivan is upgraded. It's a composite of two

Soruces: The Really Big Shew (No Label) and The Historic Live Recordings Vol.
01 from Ox-Tango.

Volume 5: A Midsummer Night's Dream - April 1964

After busy making their first Motion Picture the Lads rocks the Empire Pool for
the New Musical Express. Lots of sources i had for this concert, but in the end a
nice fellow send me a copy of the Ox-Tango Remastered Live Series, which I
used for this concert.

For 'Around The Beatles' I didn't find any upgrades, so I took this Concert from
the Purple Chick Live Series. But I've Included some Bonusmaterial. The
Rehearsals I take from the great Returning the Cheese Series, which is
complete and sounds nice. After that we have some different sources from New
Musical and Around The Beatles. Have fun! Note: The Studio Recordings for the
'Around The Beatles' Stuff will be not included, but (maybe) in another series of
Upgrade Studio Recordings.

Volume 06: Best wishes, Jimmy Nichol June 1964

Jimmys got the Drums for this CD, when Ringos got ill. The first Concert
present here is the only fair sounding Denmark Concert. I have take this
Concert from Starry Nights from Misterclaudel and remastered them to true
Mono.
Next is the Netherland TV Show The Beatles in Nederland. From a recent DVD
Release of Fab Productions we have a very good sounding Stereo source.
Please note that die Songs are mimed, but the Lads are singing over the
playback and introduce nearly every Song. Before the Concert starts we have a
nice Interview.
The Last bits are 2 Concerts from Netherland, from 1 good source, with nearly 3
Songs in Stereo, rest in pretty good Mono.

Volume 07 - Back With Us Now, Ringo - June 1964

The Lads in Australia in this Special 2 CD Set with the best known sources for
today. Adelaide is the first one. We never had a complete upgrade for this
Concert. Only 2 Songs were upgraded, this are of course included on CD 01.
The Concert is taken from the Fab Productions Set. The Melbourne Concerts are
Core from Lord Reith's Set 'Melbourne Meltdown', so I take them from his great
set.

As Bonus we have the Video Mix of the First Melbourne Concert remastered
from Ox-Tango Set (thanks to Maccafan2015) and a very interesting Stereo Mix,
which I recommended to everyone. It sound really nice. Have fun and stay
tuned!

Volume 08: In The Eye of the Hurricane - June 1964 - August 1964
From Australia to America: The Lads where very busy at these days. What we
found on Volume 08? First the Sydney bits. There where never upgraded, so I
take them from the Purple Chick Set. But the next will be. The 1964 Blackpool
TV Show was never seen at Video (really a shame!), but we have an upgraded
Audio Source, taken from a private forum CD. The Intro was missing on this
one, it was taken again from Purple Chick. The Sweden Bits are - of course -
from the recent new source, which included 2/3 of one Concert in very good
quality. All CD's used the same source, Ive taken it from the Misterclaudel Set
(all sound the same). The I Saw Her Standing There bit was taken from the
Sweden TV Documentary and not from the Misterclaudel Set. The TV Version is
a few seconds longer.

The first US Concerts where taken from The Come Together Project and Return
to Cheese Collection. A Highlight is a new source for the Seattle Concert. But -
to be true - Seattle never sounds good. Neither either. But we have now the -
so far - the best source, longer and sounds better. Have fun!
Blackpool was at the wrong speed. I have changed it to the correct speed, but
used the same source, then (in my ears) is the best sounding of this show.
When I worked on Blackpool I have found a longer Outro from the Lazy Tortoise
Collection "July 1964", which I combined with the new source. Tracks upgraded:
06 - 11
Ox Tango are really good, and I used some sources as will be in the future. But
for Blackpool I still think that the source for Volume 08 is a little bit better. It's a
new fresh upgraded. But It's very marginal and maybe I'm wrong with that. I
still hope you like this Version of Blackpool

Volume 09 - Great To Have You With Us - August 1964

Volume 09 is finally up and it's a special 3 Disc Edition. Vancouver is the
Version from The Come Together Project. An upgraded Vancouver source is in
hands of collector, but hasn't surfaced yet. I only have two upgrades, which are
included on Disc 3 (one is a Stereo Remix).

The Hollywood Bowl Concert is first the Lord Reith Stereo Remix and the Mono
Acetate, again from Lord Reith. This is the best sounding source so far.

Atlantic City is - of course - the infamous Ed Rudy overdubbed Concert with the
Liverpool Lads singing over the real Atlantic Beatles Audience Recording. Only
one source for this 1965 LP release is surfaced, so we have this one here in this
set.

As a Bonus we have the complete Radio Coverage from the Vancouver Concert.

Volume 10 - Stamp Out Detroit - September 1964

September 1964 and the boys are still very busy for their long and big
American Tour. Vol. 10 starts with the Philly Concert. Of course I used the new
upgrade from IMP. It's the best source for that very often bootlegged concert.

Indianapolis are from the Come Togehter Project, either the Tracks from
Chicago, Detroit and most from Toronto. Milwaukee is a recent new find and
taken from a forum exclusive Compilation "Live Beatles Rarities".

And we have a unheard recording from "Twist And Shout" from Toronto, which
was never been released until now. I deeply say thanks to murrays15 for this
gem. It's nice to have still unreleased Beatles Material even in 2016.

Volume 11 - Baby's in Blackpool

Again the bulk is from The Come Together Project, it is a great work, so I'm not
ashamed to take the main from this one. Shindig I used the source from Ox-
Tango, which is remastered and sounds really nice. The Dubbed Track is also on
this Disc and taken from Vigotone's "In Case You Don't Know" (from the
Remastered RMW Version).
3 Tracks are new to Disc. We have two short tracks from a unreleased Concert
from the Lads in Hull from October 16, 1964. This contains the one and only
real audio recording of "I'm Happy Just To Dance With You" (with Introducing!).
The fake Version is twice on this Disc as Bonus Tracks, one source is new to
Disc, the other from the great Set "You'll Know What To Do". And in the End the
second New Musical Express Concert from April 1965 was taken from the DVD
"The Ray Cathode Collection Vol. 6".

Volume 12 - Et Maintenant, Une Chanson - June 1965

The next Volume was an easy made. I just need 1 Source for both Paris
Concerts and used Misterclaudel's Release "Paris Left Breathless". On this MC-
Set the both concerts are in 3 sources presented. I used for both a collection of
all 3 Sources.

1 Bonustrack is lifted from The Beatles 1+ Blu Ray, so we have a new Volume.

Volume 13 - Opportunity Knocks - June 1965 - July 1965

Volume 13 started with the Italian Concerts. The first was taken from the
Misterclaudel Satyricon, the second was never upgraded, so it was from the old
Purple Chick Series.

The not very known snippets from Nice is also from Misterclaudel's Set "Paris
Left Breathless". The excellent performance from Blackpool was taken from two
sources. The Intros and Outro is from Misterclaudel's "Beatles' Big Night Out",
the main Concert from Ox-Tango's Remastered Live Series. It sounds excellent.

At the end we have a few Bonus Tracks: John & George's appareance at Ready
Steady Go with the End Song "I Need Some Loving" from April 1965. Then
following by an excellent Interview from July 31, 1965 and an Introducing, that
was labeled for the Madrid Concert from July 2, 1965. But it's fake, a special
recording for a spanish TV special in the nineties, featuring Torrebruno himself
reciting the same words he said in 1965. I thought (and maybe a few other's as
well), it was original from 1965, but astronaut was so nice to correcting me, so I
put it at Bonus for this Disc. It was taken from the fake Madrid Live CD, that
was taken mainly from their Paris recording on June 20, 1965.

Volume 14 - Can You Hear Me?

The 1965 American Tour starts with the final Ed Sullivan Show. First is the
Rehearsal from the recent HMC Release. The main broadcast was not taken
from this set, but from Ox-Tango's remastered Live Collection, whichs sounds
nicer in my opionion.

The legendary Shea Concert is twice on this set. First the Complete Mono Inline
and second the 1991 Stereo Remix, both taken from the Set "First Play At
Shea", which has an extra Bassline on the Stereo-Remix from the 1966 re-
recording the lads did.

The Atlanta Concert is never really upgraded and was taken from the Fab
Productions Live Anthology. And in the end two Bonus Tracks were taken from
Anthology and 1+.

Volume 15 - Howdy Y'all! - August 1965

The next Volume is out there: It was an easy one to make, 'cause all is from one
Source: An upgrade from the two Houston Shows. I was not able to get the
newest Misterclaudel One, but I bet there used the same source. So we have
both Houston Concert upgrade an in very good quality. Have fun and the next
will come soon.

Volume 16: Thank You Very Much For Coming - August 1965
The newest Volume 17 is sadly a very low audio quality CD. All three sources
are only fair in quality. But for a complete picture we needed them of course.
First are 8 Minutes of Chicago. This one is only in lossy quality (I couldn't found
it in lossless). I only upscaled it here in FLAC. As a Bonus you can find nearly 6
Minutes from a different Source in lossless (from Fab Productions Set). It's not
listed on the cover, so it's up to you, If you want to include it. The main source
is from Misterclaudel.

The Minneapolis Concert was never upgraded, so I took it from the Original
Minneapolis CD. The last is the newly found Portland Concert. It was recently
uploaded on Youtube. Misterclaudel's Set used this source and I took it for this
Collection.

Volume 17 - Reelin' And Rockin' - August 1965

The legendary Hollywood Bowl 1965 Concerts are here in their entirely. For
both Concerts I used the Lord Reith Compilation, which has the best sound to
date.
Next is the gig In San Francisco, which was never upgraded, so I have taken
these tracks from the good, old Purple Chick Live Collection.

As a Bonus I have included the Original 1977 Hollywood Bowl Live LP. Of course
I didn't use the new 2016 Hollywood Bowl CD, but Dr. Ebbetts LP Rip of the
Original Live LP.

Volume 18 - Mach Schau - June 1966

Mostly tracks from Purple Chick, as for the Munich and Hamburg Tracks I
couldn't find an upgrade. The Essen is taken from the newest restoration of
RMW and at least we have two unbooted track from Hamburg evening show.
Have fun.
Volume 19 - Big In Japan
The next Volume span their Japanese Tour. Two sources where used for the two
concert. The newest HMC Release sounds great and was used for the second
concert. But the first one is taken from a Masterjedi source, which sounds
slighty better.

Volume 20 - More Popular Than Jesus? - August 1966

The build for Volume 20 was the Purple Chick Live Collection which the first
track from the recent Collection "Looking Through The Evenlope" and 5
unbooted Tracks (this tracks are presented as well on the "Looking Through..."
Collection, but I've used another source).

Volume 21 - Here Come The Beatles - August 1966

And we come to the final Candlestick Concert. But it won't be the last Volume
Again: the bulk is taken from the Purple Chick Live Collection. The St. Louis

Snippets are new to disc: these tracks was recently found, so I marked them
"new". Maybe some Disc has released these tracks, but I don't know about
them.

And the final Concert was taken from the HMC Release "Stars & Stripped",
remastered from the good folks of RMW. Have fun.

Volume 22 - Don't Make It Bad - June 1967 - December 1968

These was fun to made: We have 3 (Pre-)Live Recordings from 1967 and 1968.
First is the Our World Television Recording (the Logo is used from astronaut as
Front Cover) and then the 1968 Recordings of Hey Jude and Revolution.

For The Introductions, Hey Jude and Revolution there are so many sources out
there. I go back for the Original Source, which was been found on dailymotion
for a short time from the great People of Revolver. These are the Original ones,
no overdubs or changed or anything. They sound really fine.

At last John's performance at the Rock And Roll Circus, performing Yer Blues,
complete with the Rehearsals.

As a Bonus we have 2 Mixes from Hey Jude and Revolution a different Mix of Yer
Blues and Yoko's Whole Lotta Yoko.

Volume 23 - I hope we've passed the audition - January 1969

And in the end... Here we go to the last "Concert" ever....
Here we have the COMPLETE Rooftop Concert in Stereo (Mono Sources added
when no Stereo Source where to find). As a build for the whole Concert I take
the Chronology Series. The Stereo Bits are mainly the new HMC Source. It's the
- yet - best sounding rooftop Concert available.

As a bonus you can hear just the Musik from a very good Mono source. This
was taken from the Masterdisc CD, which was remastered from RMW. Astronaut
did a great artwork. For the arwork he was inspired by "The Amazing Kornyfone
Record Label". They were the first Beatles bootleg label back in the 70s.

We have one Volume left. This will be a surprise. Have fun with the last
"Concert"

Volume 24 - Live At the Madison Square Garden - In The Seventies

This is an idea of astronaut: A 'so called' If-Concert: The Lads are Live on Stage
at the Madison Square Garden performing the Great Beatles recordings in the
Seventies.

For the John recordings I used Come Together (Live and Rehearsal) from the
1972 Concert and 2 Songs from the 1974 Concert with Elton John - both are
Soundboard Recordings.

Paul's recordings are from the 1976 Tour and - sadly - only a audience
recordings, but sounds not so bad.

George's Songs are all from the legendary 1971 Bangladesh Concert. The 1974
Recording are sounds to bad, so I didn't included it here.

I couldn't find a Ringo Madison Square Garden Seventies Recording, so I

included his one and only Live recording from Bangladesh. It Don't Come Easy
is the only "not Beatles Recording" on this set.

Astronaut again did a very nice artwork. So, this is the end of this Collection.
Thanks for all people, who was involved and thanks to all of you for the nice
comments. But this Thread will not be ending here. When a new live recording -
hopefully - will surfaced, we will included this in this set, so this Collection will
be always up to date.
