REFERENCE FRAMEWORK
In this document the work based on the guidance of practical proposal on the platform
where practically it is based on familiar with the simulation tool GNS3 networks with
respect to comprehend and understand which details are the advantages of using the
directory active in function of the created simulations, for their respective emulation in
GNS3, which was worked in its last stable version.
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK
1. Consult is GNS3.
GNS3 comes from the acronym Graphic Network Simulator is an e mulador free
graphical network capable of emulating a number of network devices, this program makes
it possible for anyone to use network hardware quickly and easily for educational
purposes and test without overspending of physical ardware h, l should mention that I
supported devices include routers and firewalls Cisco, Juniper routers and switches
frame-relay.
3. Features of GNS3
5. Development in GNS3
OS IP
Windows Server 10.0.2.15
Windows 7 10.0.2.100
Centos 10.0.2.20
Ubuntu 10.0.2.200
b. Then, the connectivity check is performed by a ping test between each device
connected
Windows Server 2012 Windows 7
Centos Ubuntu
CONCLUSIONS
GNS3 is important to mention that users are presented as a free easy application,
to install and use, with useful both in the area academic and professional, because
their use reduces the cost of implementing real equipment in real networks,
because it makes the study of networking more accessible.
It is noteworthy that GNS3 must work with Dynamips and Dynagen to make
correct emulations, avoiding malpractices configuration for the respective
simulations and raised to the work area.
It is important to note that Windows 2012 server security has a higher level
compared to the other operating systems used, because to perform the connectivity
test, the firewall must be disabled.
Note that the optimal processing capabilities of the GNS3 emulator depend on the
number of routers you want to emulate, that is, it requires more CPU resources
than RAM, if you want, many-topology routers.
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is advisable to work with the most stable version of GNS3 because the last
version released certain drawbacks in some pre-sitting in different work options
emulation settings.
It is advisable to take into account that to work with GNS3 requires at least an
Intel 2 Ghz processor and 1 GB of RAM, as it could emulate 10 routers and
another with Intel Core 2 Duo processor of 2.6 Ghz and 2 GB of RAM can emulate
28 routers, being Linux the operating system that gives us a more stable GNS3
behavior.
It is recommended that for the good functioning of the system the PC that is
chosen for the installation of GNS3 must have a good balance between CPU and
Memory, but also must be taken into account, choose a good value of IDLE-PC,
use an IOS which has the functionality that is needed, requires low amounts of
RAM to function, creating topologies that use less than 80% CPU emulator.
