1.0 Scope and Purpose

This document is intended to describe the conditions affecting compliance to NAMUR NE

21 - Electromagnetic (EMC) compatibility of industrial process and laboratory
equipment for a DeltaVTM Scalable Process System.

General installation instructions are covered in Installing Your DeltaVTM Scalable Process
System. Special installation requirements, applicable for use in a NAMUR NE 21 location,
are covered here and defined below.

2.0 Conditions of Compliance

2.1 The DeltaVTM Scalable Process System is powered by VE5011 Bulk AC to 24 VDC
power supplies and VE5008 or VE5009 24/12 VDC System power supplies.

2.2 Field Power supplied to the I/O cards either at the field terminal or as bussed field power
via the I/O carrier must be from VE5011, AC to 24VDC bulk power supplies.

2.3 Power supplied for DeltaV SIS products must be from VE5011, AC to 24VDC bulk
power supplies or from 24VDC to 24VDC bulk power supplies that qualify to meet
NAMUR NE 21 specifications.

2.4 All cables have a length of 20 meters or less.

2.5 Each I/O Module interfaces to the field via a Terminal Block assembly.

2.6 See Table 1 for a list of compliant assemblies.

2.7 A Module Cover VE6101 must be fitted to any permanently unoccupied location on an
I/O Module Carrier, SISNet Repeater Carrier or System Power/Controller Carrier.
(Permanently unoccupied implies no I/O Module/TermBlock, SISNet Repeater, System
Power Module or Controller Module are intended for that particular location.)
