I am able to qualify for this scholarship because I meet the requirements given. I play for a team
associated with BC Soccer, and I have been doing so for about 5 years now. I am my teams
captain, which shows my leadership and team working abilities. Also, I have been involved in
different soccer related roles that involve my community and my school. In my community, I
have helped coach and teach soccer to young kids at an elementary school once a week. At
school, I have been apart of the school soccer team every year and I am a big contribute to the
team. Also, from a referee role I have lined games from the sidelines when not able to play. This
scholarship doesnt require a person to have played for Team BC, which is BC Soccers team,
but I have gotten the opportunity many times to do so traveling down to Seattle, Portland, and
even a tournament hosted at UBC. That is just one more extra thing I can add to the scholarship
application.
I am able to qualify for this scholarship if by the application date for my graduating year I get
offered a spot on the womens soccer team at a BC school. It is awarded to a person wanting to
go into sports medicine or health of some sort, and are sports training at the same time. I have
a higher grade point average than required and have shown great achievement and high-level
play in my sport. I am wanting to go into the kinesiology program at UBC to become a
Physiotherapist or even a Sports Physiotherapist. So I will be studying some sport related topics
like different injuries in different sports. Also, with this scholarship, you can apply for it again
and again up to 4 years so I could potentially get a $2500 scholarship a year if I continue to
study a sports related topic and be doing sports training at the same time.
To qualify, applicants must have competed in BCSS approved sports, specifically, girls or
boys soccer during the applicants grade 12 school year. Applicants must be enrolled in a
BC secondary member school, be graduating this 2017-18 school year and will be
entering their first full-time studies in a Canadian University of College. Applicants must
have demonstrated school spirit, a healthy lifestyle, and community involvement in
order to be considered.
A scholarship will be paid to the successful applicant upon receipt by BC School Sports of
proof of registration in a full-time program of study at an accredited Canadian College or
University.
I am able to qualify for this scholarship because I meet the requirements given and I play the
sport the specifically ask for. I have played on the school soccer team every year so far an I
continue to do so for the rest my high school years. I plan to go to a Canadian, and more
specifically, a BC post-secondary school. At school I demonstrate school spirit by participating in
spirit days, and by donating to the shelters and organizations the school donates to. I also
demonstrate my school spirit by attending sports games to support the school and the players. I
participate in the school soccer team and also the cross-country team, and wear the school
sports clothing to show school spirit. I demonstrate a healthy lifestyle by being active everyday
with sports, eating healthy, spreading a positive attitude, and also by not being involved in
anything that could potentially hurt my body. Lastly, I am involved in my community with the
volunteering I have done which has been listed in previous paragraphs above.
