Calisthenics

Every year Americans spend approximately 40 to 50 billion dollars towards weight loss.

This amount goes towards dieting, gym memberships, weight-loss supplements, etc. Yet, several

are ill informed about the less expensive and arguably more productive method of calisthenics.

Through the art of calisthenics, one was illustrate the pros, cons, and effectiveness throughout

the body.

As of any topic, there are various advantages and disadvantages within it. Calisthenics is

a method used to better the mind and body through exercise; it allows for a cleaner muscle build

and healthier body function, as well as the saving of ones time, space, and money. With a

variety of different styles, techniques, and exercises, parts of the body may be individually

targeted allowing for a cleaner muscle build. The muscle can then be built at a much slower, yet

healthier pace developing a much cleaner and healthier looking muscle. The body will function

healthier as well. After a few short weeks, the body is changing and functioning as a benefit to

working out. Injury is less prone and the body will begin to develop muscle group allowing the

body to reach its optimal of maim performance.

Calisthenics is also a more cost efficient program and will save a massive amount of money

in the long run. It is considerably more cost friendly and inexpensive compared to buying a gym

membership. Space will not be a problem either. The art can be preformed thorough a variety of
different types of exercises that target each specific muscle group. The typical amount of space

each excerise needs ranges from approximately four feet to six feet; this will mainly be based on

the height and size of the person preforming. Even more, the benefits of calisthenics stretch even

further and have been proven to be linked with the relief within depression, angry, or other

people dealing with anxiety or some form of this style of disorder. It is a popular belief that

working out can take one's mind off of such depression, angry, or anxiety. Hence, the body is

enabled to calm as well as the mind allowing for clearer thinking and a sense of safety as one

begins to feel better.

Although the art does have its disadvantages, they are simply trifle. With calisthenics, there

will be a slower muscle build, a size difference, and sadly, there are a limited amount of

exercises targeting each muscle group. The muscle build will be slower typically due to applying

less force and stress on the muscle. There is also a lesser amount of testosterone released

throughout the body which is the main hormone that targets muscle growth. Because of this

exertion of force and stress on each muscle, there will be a major size difference in a person

working with weights rather than his or her own body weight. Calisthenics is going to provide

the body with a much leaner, healthier looking build compared to working with weights will

provide more emphasis and bulkier muscles. The biggest con with calisthenics is the limited

number of exercises . After a certain time period of using the same workout, the body will adapt

and adjust to the routine. Because of this one is required to switch workouts that target each

desired muscle. However, there are only so many workouts for each part of the body.

Overall, the practice of calisthenics is very beneficiary to ones body and is immense in

effectiveness. The body will have better health, strength, and mindset. As one creates a schedule

and sticks with it, the body will grow stronger and become less prone to injury. "Feel good
endorphins" will be realized throughout the mind and body creating a positive reaction within

one's self. One's mood will continually increase for the better and can create a happier

atmosphere. After analyzing the pros, cons, and effectiveness of calisthenics, one can conclude

that it is well worth the time to try the program and lace it within one's daily routine.
