Product Information

AND

Applications

NE-940 prevents emulsions that commonly form between crude oils and spent acidizing treatment fluids. It works
effectively in various concentrations of hydrochloric acid (HCI), hydrochloric-hydrofluoric acid (HCI/HF) mixtures
and brine water, leaving the formation water-wet to improve recovery and production results.

Features

Compatible
Works with cationic, anionic and nonionic additives. Also compatible with most acid corrosion inhibitors and
friction reducers, as well as many anionic acid additives.

Highly Effective De-Emulsifier/W etting Agent

De-Emulsifier/Wetting
Prevents emulsions formed from a variety of crude oils, including many problem crudes in South Texas, West
Texas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and the Williston Basin areas.

Low Surface T ension

Tension
Reduces surface tension of common treating fluids by up to 50%.

Wettability
Water-wets silicate fines, preventing them from stabilizing emulsions.

Flexible
Works with all types of acidizing fluids, including HCl, HF/HCl mixtures, mud acids, organic acids, HCl/organic
acid blends and acid/mutual solvent systems.

Benefits

Minimizes requirements for costly, time consuming remedial de-emulsification treatments.

Contributes to faster, more complete recovery of treating fluids through lower surface and interfacial tension.
Improves conductivity with water-wetting capability.

Safety Precautions

NE-940 is a hazardous material and should be handled with care. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
Avoid prolonged breathing of mists or vapors. DO NOT take internally. Do not use, store, spill or pour near heat,
sparks or open flame.

Supersedes

NE-15 and NE-18.

Limitations

While NE-940 has no known incompatibilities when mixed with acids or waters, all systems should be tested for
compatibility prior to use.
