Warm Up and Presentation
a. Whole class activity (5 minutes) LO1, LO3
The instructor writes on the board two sentences.
If I have enough money, I will go to Japan.
If I had had enough money, I would have gone to Japan.
Then he shows two colored paper, one of them is written highly possibility (see
Appendix 1), on the other one is written highly impossibility (see Appendix 2).
Then the instructor asks the students to tell which of the sentences shows highly
possibility since they are already familiar with first conditional.
When the students response correctly the teacher sticks the paper written highly
possibility above the sentence.
Then he shows the other paper and students guess that the second sentence shows highly
impossibility.
Then the instructor sticks that color paper above the corresponding sentence.

Procedure
b. Role-play activity (5 minutes) LO2
bring one student in the middle of the class and tell the whole class that he is the groom
in this activity.
the instructor divides the rest of the students into 6 groups according to their seats (3
members in each group).
name the groups with numbers from 1 to 6.
give the groom a handout with six questions that he is going to ask later (see Appendix
3).
each group is given one sentence with a number written on it (see Appendix 4).
the students are told to complete the sentences with interesting ideas excluding I would
divorce answer.
the groups are given one minute to think and finish the sentences.
tell the groups to choose one bride.
each question has a number written above it and the groom is going to ask the exact.
question to the bride with the same number.
groom asks given questions to each bride corresponding to the number (2 minutes).
each bride represents her groups answer.
after finishing Q&A with each bride , the groom is given 30 seconds to choose the bride
that he liked most.

Procedure
c. Whole class activity (5 minutes) LO3
Introduction: In this writing and speaking activity students complete third conditional sentences
about imaginary or unlikely situations in the past.
Procedure:
Bring a jar and colorful cards into the classroom.
Tell the Ss they are going to complete the sentence given on the colorful cards using third
conditional (see Appendix 5).
Bring your own example.
Give a card to each student.
Give 1 minute to complete the sentences.
Tell the Ss to exchange their cards in pairs. Then ask them to read out loud one anothers
sentences, calling the students name instead of pronoun I. Demonstrate it with your partner. Ask
them to follow your example.
Ask the Ss to fold their cards and put them into the jar.
Tell the Ss their cards will be checked and assessed after the class.
