Understanding and Overcoming the
Barriers
Geographic information system (GIS) Planning, implementation
and management can be a complex subject.
It requires substantial background and skills, not only in GIS but in
Information Technology (IT), management, and project
management.
One of the hardest aspects is putting all the pieces together
identifying, organizing, planning, and managing all the
components of GIS implementation and management.
For a GIS effort to be successful, need to identify and understand
the barriers in our organizational context and all of these
components must be carefully coordinated and integrated
instead of putting the ad-hoc effort.
Future of GIS
Development of SDI
Web based GIS
Use of GIS in every sector for fast and reliable decision making
GIS projects for effective management of development
activities.
