MINUTES OF THE ABC CONFERENCE CALL WITH TIM GATTS

December 4, 2001

Attendees

John South - USPS

Doug Watson - USPS
Bill Knecht - JMCS
Anna Karneh - JMCS
Tim Gatts Armstrong Laing

The purpose of the call was to discuss the data extract utility that Armstrong Laing recently delivered.
John South asked if it is necessary to load data for all columns in each table. Metify tables have a number
of columns that we do not need in the ABC reporting database. Tim said that the utility is hard-coded to
dump all columns. If we want to eliminate columns, he would have to change the code. He can do this,
but in the future if it is determine that we need some of the columns that were omitted, the code would
have to be changed again. The ABC team decided to keep the utility as is, populating all fields.

Anna said that the table names and column names are not in standard Oracle format. She asked Tim if he
could change the names to be standard. Tim said yes and asked Anna to send him a list of names as she
would like them to appear. Anna agreed to email Tim the list today.

Anna asked if the utility will allow the user to select the tables to load instead of having to load all tables.
Tim said yes, the user can select the tables to load.

Anna asked if the utility will allow the user to extract data for just one AP and append that data to the data
that already exists in the Oracle database. Tim said that it will do that.

When asked about where scrubbing and aggregation of the data will take place, Anna said that we plan on
directly loading data from Metify into the ABC base tables. Then we will do the aggregation and
scrubbing when the data is loaded into the data mart and aggregation tables.

Anna asked Tim if he could append V6_ onto the front of the table names. Tim said he would do that.
He will have the new table names ready by the end of the week.

Tim asked who is going to run the utility. John South said that he will.

Tim asked if we want the option to completely delete and replace an entire table. Anna said no. John said
that we need an overwrite capability, so that if you extract data for a FY/AP that is already in the target
table, it will overwrite, not append, data in the table. Tim said OK.
Tim asked if we need a table create function. John and Anna said no.

John said that we need the ability to designate the default tables to be loaded, and a Close button. Tim
said that he would provide that.
