    About the Maverick Run:


    The Claussen-Leahy Maverick Run promotes community awareness and support for the UNO
    Athletic Department and its student-athletes while promoting healthy lifestyles for people of all
    ages.

    Registration:
    Opens Jan 1.
    Children aged 5-12 are free
    Participants age 13 and over are $30 prior to April 13 and $40 after April 14

    Last Year:
    Just over 2,500 participants in 2017
    Total attendance was approximately 5000-6000
    60% of participants were Female
    High percentage of participants ages 20-45
    382 child (5-12) registered for kids race
    222 Students in 2017, a 364% increase from previous year

    Objectives:
    Maintain registrations for these events: 10K run, 5K run/walk and Kids Race
    Keep contracts with community vendors

    Day of Event Activities:


    FanFest activity area for children: obstacle courses, hamster ball races, slam dunk zone,
    bounce houses, different challenge areas available in Baxter Arena
    Photo Booth for all ages
    Fan tailgate: beer garden and food trucks are available for participants
