Future Horizons will be hosting the Baltimore Autism Conference Thursday, January 18, 2018 with
guest speakers Dr. Temple Grandin, Anita Lesko, Dr. Jim Ball.
Baltimore, MD, November 14, 2017 --(PR.com)-- Temple Grandin, Ph.D., -- chosen by Time magazine
as their "hero" in the "100 Most Influential Persons in the World" (2010) -- is coming to the
Baltimore/Washington DC area Jan. 18, to speak on the autistic brain.
She contends people need to recognize and appreciate "the strengths of brains built differently," rather
than focusing on the autism diagnosis, its social deficits, or the behaviors some of those with autism may
exhibit.
She will be joined by Anita Lesko, who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at age fifty. Despite all
the challenges and obstacles, Anita forged ahead to obtain exciting goals. Having been honored by the
United Nations as a guest speaker for National Autism Day in 2017, Anita is an advocate for people with
Asperger's Syndrome.
Dr. Jim Ball, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, has been in the autism field for over twenty years
providing educational, residential, and employment services to children and adults affected by autism. As
President/CEO of JB Autism Consulting, he provides private consultation to organizations, schools, and
families regarding staff training, parent training, home support services, classroom design/support, and
behavior management/ assessment.
