No School A reminder that Prairie
Catholic does not have school tomorrow,
Friday, November 10th.
Veterans Day Program All are welcome to
a special Veterans Day program on Monday,
November 13th beginning at 2:00pm in the
school cafeteria. Hope to see you there.

Christmas Program This years Prairie
Catholic Christmas Program will be
Wednesday, December 13th, at 6:30 pm in St.
Gabriels Church. The make-up date will be
the following Wednesday, December 20th.
Special Mass for Honor Roll Students The
Middle School is planning a special Mass for
all students who made Honor or High Honor
roll. The date is Tuesday, November 14th at
the 8:15 a.m. Mass. All are welcome to
attend.

Student Council The student council will
be hosting a Break the Code day on
Friday, November 17th. For a one dollar
donation students may break the dress
code for that day! All money raised goes
towards Sara. For new families, you may
not be aware that Prairie Catholic has
sponsored Sara Cardenas Norabuena.
Sara was born in June of 2006. Being left
alone at home a lot by her parents, who
suffer from substance abuse, she is now a
part of the Our Lady of Guadalupe family
at Casa Hogar. Casa Hogar is a home for
the orphaned and abandoned children of
Peru with the mission of delivering high
quality care and services to the at-risk
youth. There are 64 children who live at
Casa Hogar ranging in age from 4 years to
17 years. With the sponsorship, they are
able to pay married couples to care for
Sara. Not only that, but our money helps to
feed and educate her as well as take care
of her medical expenses. The student
council appreciates everyone who helps
make this sponsorship possible!
Thanksgiving Food Drive The PCS Student
Council will be sponsoring a Food Drive.
The class that brings in the most food items
will win an ice cream surprise!. The items
can be brought in to your childs
homeroom teacher from Monday,
November 27th to Wednesday, December
15th. Please remember to think of others
during this holiday season. Thank you!
Calendar Sweepstakes - Coming home
today are 6 calendars to each family. This
fundraiser could raise as much as
$15,000.00 for the support of Prairie
Catholic Schools. We need everyones
help for this fundraiser to be successful.
Remember if you sell 5 calendars, you get
the 6th free. Please turn in sold slips and
money to the school office. Good luck &
keep selling!
Colder Weather We may not have wanted it,
but the weather has turned more fall/winter like.
With that, please send your student to school
prepared to be outside in the morning and for
recess. Coats, hats and gloves are a good idea!
Truancy - The school would like to remind families
that each student is allowed 10 sick days per
YEAR. Partial days are counted in this number.
Truancy starts on number 11, so please ensure
your student is here, and that all appointments
have a medical note for the file.
Scrip - Have you started your Christmas
shopping? Consider ordering Scrip cards today!
All orders with payment need to be turned in by
Monday morning. Visit shopwithscrip.com to see
the many retailers available and order on-line.
Orders will be delivered one week later on
Mondays. Contact Mrs. Steger with questions
