D. EXPERIMENTAL PROCEDURE

1. Please refer to the Standard Operating Procedure of Concentric Heat Exchanger

Unit.
2. Record all temperature reading.

E. EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS
1. Determine the efficiency, log mean temperature and overall heat transfer coefficient
for parallel and counter flow.
2. Plot the heat transfer coefficient vs velocity position for parallel and counter flow.

F. DISCUSSION / EVALUATION & QUESTION

1. What will happened if the tube banks are changed to become in line form instead of
staggered form.

2. Comments on the variation heat transfer coefficient by convection with air velocity
and heat power and efficiency of the system with heater power.

3. List all factors that will be affecting the convection process.

4. What will be happened if we increase the flow rate of cold water in the experiment.
5. Compare your results, which type of double-pipe heat exchanger is more effective
a parallel flow or counter flow heat exchanger.

6. Explain any unusual difficulties or problems which may have led to poor results.

7. Sketch and explain the heat transfer process occurred between fluid and tube wall
of heat exchanger in the experiment

G. CONCLUSION
1. Make an intelligent conclusion of your experiment base on data and discussion with
refer to experiment objective.

2. Give examples in industrial application.
