Representations of People and politics in Brave new world and 2081.

How do choices made by the composers shape the representation of people and politics?
Representations of People and Politics reveal the complex interplay between individuals, political
mechanisms and power. (insert thesis)The choices of the composer to shape the representations of
people and politics were conceptualised in (I would change this bit before about shaping - depending
on the thesis) Aldous Huxleys didactic utopian novel Brave New World, which explores the notion of
political systems sacrificing the freedoms of society for the sake of a facade of Community. Identity.
Stability. For the people these political actions seek to repress, the individuals perspective of truth
and if unconditioned people are empowered to disrupt political mechanisms. Supplementary the
ideology of an egalitarian society that is sedated by physical suppression is portrayed in Chandler
Tuttles adapted short film 2081 (shorten this) . Through the unity of the combined representations
of the texts . tThe composers choose to embody the ideology of political actions sacrificing freedom
and the power of the individual to compensate for a sense of stability and control in the society.

Through the representations of the political landscape in Brave New World, readers visualize the
way in which political actions can dramatically affect the sense of identity and freedom in the
society. The overbearing presence of "The World State enforces the values of "Community identity,
Stability" through control and suppression of individual freedoms and identity. The audience is the
able to understand the political power of The World state through the utilisation of the futuristic
advancements in technology. The Bokanovasky process enhances political control in the society, as
it harnesses the collative power of the individuals to maintain the political regime in utopian society.
Accentuating the lack of freedom in society as, individuals are programed to conform to their
classification in the hierarchy system implemented by the political elite. (INSERT THESIS ANALYSIS)
Additionally the objectified use of pronouns in autonomous response, One believes things, as one
is been conditioned to believe. Emphasises the ideology of individuals being a part of a collective
body in society, as the numerical utilisation of One alludes the lack of identity of people in the
society. Ultimately exemplifying the world state's ability to strip a sense of identity and freedom to
proactively maintain community through a hollow sense of stability and a conformed but depraved
sense of identity.

Moreover the conceptualisation of a hollow sense of freedom and identity in an egalitarian society
has been captured in Tuttles short film 2081. Through the manifestation of the individual George,
whom was seen as a threat to the political regime as he superiorly intelligent to the rest of society.
Resulting in sedation of this body, by handicapping his brain to disrupt his train of thought. (explain
a sound technique - abrupt for the audience too) This suppresses George's sense of freedom, (likn
can be put here i.e. Similar to the way ford is forced to ... George must conform to) as he is forced to
conform to the expectations of society and diminishes his possibilities of having any significant
impact in the order and stability in the society. The composers utilises visual effects, such as a
blinding white light for flashbacks to accentuate the pain and suffering of George as his he tries to
recall memories that he once had. The symbolic use of the vibrant white flash, emphasis the
stripping of Georges identity as the audience is given a lack of clarity, creating confusion and
disempowering us (focus on explaining how we are suppressed) . Tuttle does this to show us the
overbearing control of the political actions of the political elite in suppressing the identity and
freedom of individuals in society. Creating an explicit understanding of the weakness of the people
in society, equivalent to Brave New Worlds explicit conditioning and control without the sense of
illusion. Ultimately both texts show the importance of restricting individuals freedom in order for
a political elite to maintain power by establishing a sense of conformity. OR LINK TO THESIS
Individuals possess the power to shape the stereotypical ideologies of a utopian society, based on
the manipulation and conditioning of political regimes. Huxleys conceptualised idea exemplifies the
fine line between individuals and the political system in place. The connotations of the quote No
social stability, without individual stability, accentuates the power of the individual to shape the
perspectives and values in society, challenging the political system by empowering the individual.
(THESIS LINK OR QUESTION LINK) The use of the protagonist John the savage as a compelling
individual that is an experiment by the controller Mustapha Mond, to examine the influence of the
individual in the society. Exemplified through johns quote I want God, I want danger, I want
freedom, alleviates the portrayal of the high modality of the individual John. As he asserts his
individual opinion, by the repetition of I Want, reflecting the limitations of key ideals in a society
as the individual has the power to shape the ideologies of the broader society, if they have the
capacity to comprehend manipulative power of the political regime. The savage comprehends the
repression of the perspective in society and isolates himself as he seeks to find personal
empowerment. Ultimately leading to his end and the continuation of the unaltered conformist
nature of the political system, as the individual possess power that cannot shape the society as
products of conditioning are see past the illusion created by the political power.

Through the manifestation of the influential power of the individual Harrison Bergeron, the audience
is able to recognise the profound effect on the political structure of society. Harrison is a superior
intellectual individual that is presented as A man that would awe Thor, the god of thunder,
emphasising the inconceivable power of the individual. The utilisation of the intertextuality to Thor,
signifies the momentousness of the individual on shaping the ideology of the political regime in
society. Harrison challenges the conformist ideologies of the individuals in society as his superior
intelligence and his muscular appearance alleviates the capacities of the individuals in the society.
Moreover the representation of the gesture of the ripping of the chains and weights on Harrisons
body, emphasises the disruptive power of an individual as he defies the order of the political regime.
(symbolising - as the technique or Tableau as a technique but i'm not sure it necessarily applies)
Ultimately leading to the downturn of Harrison as the political elites take immediate action to
eradicate the individual in society. Ultimately accentuating the limitations in the individuals role in
political mechanisms, nullifying the power of individual over the political elite. Or thesis link

Conclusively the representations of people and politics in both text, is dependent upon the
individuals ability to exert power in society. People can only influence politics if they are those in
power. As politics is represented as the absolute power and can only be achieved through control
and limitations of individual empowerment. Restate thesis in conclusion
