This guide assumes that you already have the Jaguar InControl Remote app installed on your phone, and fully
setup. It also assumes that youve selected Dont show me again on all of the prompts you get in the Jaguar
app. The screen coordinates (highlighted red) are correct if using a Google Pixel 2XL. If you have a different
device, see the last step of this guide that shows you how to obtain the screen coordinates for your device and
replace the values in red with your values.

1. Download the IFTTT app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ifttt.ifttt


2. Download Tasker - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.Taskerm
3. Download AutoInput - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.AutoInput
4. Download AutoRemote Lite -
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joaomgcd.AutoRemote.lite
5. Open Tasker and perform the following steps:
a. Click on Tasks (top bar)
b. Click on the + and create a new task called Start Car
c. Now that youve created a task, click the + again to create an action
d. Select App, then select Launch App, then select the Remote app (the Jaguar InControl
Remote app is actually just called Remote). Then click on the back button (top left) to save.
e. Click the + again, Select Task, then select Wait. In the Seconds field, press the up arrow
until 15 seconds is selected. (this gives the app enough time to load). Press back again on the
top left to save.
f. (Step to click right) Click the + again, Select Plugin, the select AutoInput, then Action.

Under configuration, click on the pencil ( ), and this will open AutoInput action.
i. Select Action, and select Click
ii. Select Field Type and select point
iii. Select Field Point and enter 1329,168 without the quotes
iv. Scroll down and select Advanced, then tick Is Tasker Action, and go back
v. Click on the tick on the top right this will take you back to Tasker
vi. In Tasker, click the back button again on the top left
g. Click the + again, Select Task, then select Wait. In the Seconds field, press the up arrow
until 2 seconds is selected. (this gives the app enough time to load). Press back again on the
top left to save.
h. (Step to click start) Click the + again, Select Plugin, the select AutoInput, then Action.

Under configuration, click on the pencil ( ), and this will open AutoInput action.
i. Select Action, and select Click
ii. Select Field Type and select point
iii. Select Field Point and enter 923,703 without the quotes
iv. Scroll down and select Advanced, then tick Is Tasker Action, and go back
v. Click on the tick on the top right this will take you back to Tasker
vi. In Tasker, click the back button again on the top left
i. Click the + again, Select Task, then select Wait. In the Seconds field, press the up arrow
until 2 seconds is selected. (this gives the app enough time to load). Press back again on the
top left to save.
j. (Step to enter pin) Click the + again, Select Plugin, the select AutoInput, then Action.

Under configuration, click on the pencil ( ), and this will open AutoInput action
i. Select Action, and select Write
ii. Select Field Type and select Focus
iii. Select Text to Write and enter the pin that you use in the Jaguar InControl remote
app to start your car
iv. Scroll down and select Advanced, then tick Is Tasker Action, and go back
v. Click on the tick on the top right this will take you back to Tasker
vi. In Tasker, click the back button again on the top left

k. Click the + again, Select Task, then select Wait. In the Seconds field, press the up arrow

l. (Step to press OK) Click the + again, Select Plugin, the select AutoInput, then Action.

Under configuration, click on the pencil ( ), and this will open AutoInput action.
i. Select Action, and select Click
ii. Select Field Type and select point
iii. Select Field Point and enter 1024,1216 without the quotes
iv. Scroll down and select Advanced, then tick Is Tasker Action, and go back
v. Click on the tick on the top right this will take you back to Tasker
vi. In Tasker, click the back button again on the top left
6. In Tasker, click the back button on the top left to save your task
7. Close Tasker
8. Open IFTTT and sign up/create an account
a. Click Search and search for webhooks
b. Click Connect
c. Click on the cog on the top right
d. Note down/copy the URL under account info (if you cant copy the URL in the app, simply
visit the URL - https://ifttt.com/services/maker_webhooks/settings, and copy the URL
through your web browser)
9. Open AutoRemote Lite
a. Type a name for your device (this can be anything you want, e.g. phone)

b. Click on the phone icon ( )


c.Click on the IFTTT icon ( )
d.Paste the URL you got from webhooks and click OK
e.Keep the default device name (IFTTT)
f.Press Ok when youre prompted to generate a URL to use in IFTTT, and press OK again on the

g. When asked what app to use to share your URL, select copy to clipboard
h. Close AutoRemote Lite
10. Open IFTTT
a. Click on My Applets
b. Click on the + on the top right
c. Click on +this ( )
d. Search for google assistant and select it
e. Select Say a simple phrase
f. In the field what do you want to say, enter the phrase(s) you wish to use (I just use start
the car)
g. Under What do you want the assistant to say in response, again, type whatever you like I
use Sure the Jag is starting up
h. Click on the tickbox on the top right to save
i. Click on +then ( )
j. Search for webhooks and select it
k. Click on Make a web request
l. Paste the URL you copied in the previous step (from AutoRemote Lite)
m. Click on the tickbox on the top right to save
n. Click on Finish
o. Close IFTTT
11. Open Tasker
a. Under Profiles, click on the + (at the bottom)

b. Select Event, then select Plugin and select AutoRemoteLite, then AutoRemoteLite again

c. Under Configuration, select the pencil ( )


d. Under Message Filter, type ME and press OK, then press back
e. In Tasker, click the back button again on the top left to save
f. When prompted to enter task, select Start Car
12. Go into your phone settings
a. Select Accessibility
b. Under services, turn on both Tasker and AutoInput
13. Open AutoInput and click on Get Full Version and follow the instruction to unlock the app (you can
always enable the trial at first to make sure everything works)

Once this is done, everything should work! You will notice that when you trigger the google assistant, the
Jaguar app launches on your phone and, providing everything has been followed and everything is working, it
starts your car!

Instructions on getting X.Y coordinates.

1. On your phone, go to settings.


a. Select System
b. Click on About Phone 7 times (in quick succession) this unlocks developer options
c. In Developer Options, scroll down until you find pointer location and turn it on. At this
point, you will see that on the top left of your phone (whilst your finger is still on the screen),
you can now see the X,Y coordinates .
2. Open the Jaguar App.
a. Place your finger where the right arrow is on the top right of the app, and note down the X,Y
coordinates(highlighted yellow in this image). Use these for Step 5, f, iii (ignore anything
after the . of the coordinates)

b. Place your finger where the Start button is, and note down the X,Y coordinates. Use these
for Step 5, h, iii

c. Place your finger where the OK button is (on the enter pin page) and note down the X,Y
coordinates. Use these for Step 5, l, iii
