Thank you to everyone
concerned with last weeks
FOTM Bonfire Night. As always
it was an absolutely superb
event and it was a pleasure
to see so many parents and
children enjoying themselves.
Such events are a success as
result of all the hard work put
in by so many and I know the
children were very appreciative
in assembly on Monday. Thank
you too to Mr Pook and GWS
Events for the lighting.
Apart from having a great time
last Friday, a significant amount
of money was raised for the
Music & Performing Arts Suite
Appeal. As an update, we are now in the process of examining the final quotes for the roof, which
we hope to get underway in due course. Mr Noel is continuing the external work on the pointing
and as the weather changes the team will then move into the building to start gutting it ready for the
internal works such as the installation of the acoustic plasterboard, the new windows the electrics,
the lighting and so on. Fund raising has gone very well but we do still need for everyone to donate
a named brick. We would like to place the next order soon so please do return your forms soon;
thank you.
Congratulations to those who took part in the Monmouth
Prep School Quiz last weekend. I hear the questions were
challenging but the team did well to win three rounds,
narrowly missing out on the fourth.
Well done also to everyone who took part in todays Informal
Concert.
Parents Morning for the Upper School is tomorrow and is
due to start at 9am in the Hall. We look forward to seeing
you there.
In case you have seen it yet, the new fence by the swimming
pool and top gate has now been installed. Thank you to Mr
Wilmer and Mr Noel for all their hard work.

YEAR 4 TRIP TO BRISTOL MUSEUM
On Tuesday, Year 4 had a super morning at Bristol Museum. They handled lots of ancient Egyptian
artefacts and Miss Gooch was incredibly impressed with their knowledge of the objects, understanding
of life in Ancient Egypt and problem solving skills. Everybody was beautifully behaved and should
feel very proud of how well they represented our school on this outing.

MONMOUTH PREP SCHOOLS QUIZ
On Sunday a small group of six children from Years 7 & 8 went over to Monmouth School for the
annual General Knowledge Prep Schools Quiz. Following a delicious lunch (very much appreciated
by the TMS team!), we took part in our initial three rounds of competition. We found the questions
challenging - they ranged from topical questions on earthquakes and storms, to dates of medieval
kings, music in different languages, pictures of instruments and locations associated with authors,
amongst others.
We won the third quiz and went through to the next round. Sadly, we lost our last final quiz by just
two questions (20 points).
It was a hard-fought competition, but good fun. Thank you to the TMS team for their efforts.
