Our standard for this unit is the important developments in America from 1975 to

2001. The artifact we chose was a picture of the twin towers falling. We chose the twin

towers falling because we can use this in a lesson for our standard. We could use this

artifact when describing the events that occurred on September 11, 2001 and when

analyzing the impact on the tragic event has had on American life. During this lesson I

would use the picture to describe what happened on September 11. I would also use this

picture to talk about the impact it has had on America and how America was negatively

affected by this tragic event. Since September 11 a lot has changed. Air travel security

has been increased heavily, Racial discrimination against Muslims has increased, and

Immigration, Deportation, and Tourism were also impacted.

During the lesson I will explain how each of these things still impact Americans

today. I will talk about how with Air Travel people now have to go through an excessive

screening before air travel at this time the luggage will also go through a thorough
screening. I will also about how Americans have discriminated against Muslim people

and others from the Middle East. Innocent people are being profiled because of what a

few people in their culture did. International travel has declined exponentially because of

the increased regulations on traveling abroad.

In conclusion, the artifact will be a good image to explain the cause and effects of

September 11th and how it has impacted American life and the perspective of how

Muslims were treated after the tragic event. This will give a visual of what September

11th was like and tone of that day across the nation.
