INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

In order to better understand my audience and their consumption of music and music videos of the indie
genre, I feel that conducting a series of informal and conversational interviews with my peers will be
really beneficial. What I am trying to assess and understand from these questions is the ways in which my
audience consume media- are they passive like The Hypodermic Syringe model suggests, or are they
actively choosing which media they interact with for a variety of purposes and reasons, like the Uses and
Gratifications model suggests, and as many see audience media consumption today. And further, I am
trying to understand how my audience perceive and decipher representation of particular groups, and
their opinion on this, as well as what they can tell me of generic conventions and what they expect when
consuming the media they do. Below is a list of possible questions that I may ask within these interviews.
