1.1 Welcome by the English Language Panel Chairman

1.1.1 The chairman Mrs. Kavitha welcomed Mrs. Kogilavanee. Mrs Jothy, Mrs. Jayamanee and
Mr.Manisilvam to the meeting. He said being the first Panel Chairman and he needs all the
help , support and cooperation from everyone so that all the projects to be carried out
effectively.

2.1 Speech by Headmistress.

2.1.1 Our Headmistress Mrs. Kogilavanee thanked everyone for coming for the meeting. The
panel files need to be updated and organized before the next Panel meeting on the second
week of January. She said that the English Language Panel will continue to carry out all
the activities planned by the school PPD and JPN.

3.1 Minutes of previous meeting

3.1.1 The minits were proposed by Mr. David and seconded by Mrs Jothy

4.1 Matter Arising

4.1.1 Pn.Kogilavanee requested the English Panel to come up with programmess for the classes
which did not performance well in PKSR 2 especially for year 5 pupils.

5.1 Personal Details And Time Tables.
5.1.1 Mrs Kavitha has given the personal details and Timetables forms to Mr David to fill in for
filling purposes. The forms need to be completed by end of the month

6.1 Reference Materials

6.1.1 All English teachers are to write the list of Textbooks, workbooks and reference materials to
be used in the course of teaching.

7.1 Analysis of Monthly Tests and Examinations.

7.1.1 The analysis was started based on the school requirements.

7.1.2 The empty forms were given to all the English Teachers.
7.1.3 This analysis will help the teachers to find out the problems areas and weaknesses and how
to combat them.

8.1 Question Bank

8.1.1 Mrs.Kavitha suggested that all past year questions should be filled and kept in order.

9.1 HSP and Yearly Scheme of Work

9.1.1 Mrs. Kavitha said that HSP and Yearly Scheme of Work need to be kept in files and should
be referred to when requested by visiting officer.

10.1 Daily Lesson Plan

10.1.1 Mrs.Kavitha stressed that according to the KSSR format, the extra elements should be
infused into the lesson.
All textbooks, activities books and worksheets are considered as Teaching Aids.
Pn.Kogilavanee just emphasized on writing the reflection as soon as the lesson ended.

11.1.1 It was decided to use 2 exercises for Year 1and 2. These books will be English 1 and
Penmanship (handwriting). 1 book for year 3 as English 1.

2, one for Grammar and one for essay.

12.1 ORAL ASSESSMENT
12.1.1 Headmistress has advised the panel to continue with the Oral Assessment for level 2.Oral
Assessment ( PLBS ) will be carried out twice a year.

13.1.1 The list of names and marks for PKSR2 and the forms were given to PN. Jothy to do the

14.1 PLANS FOR THE YEAR 2017 FOR YEAR 1 TO YEAR 6.

14.1.1 The Panel agreed to have only three activities for the English language together with all the
other activities planned by the school.
14.1.2 The activities planned will be held according to the different classes.
The following are the plans for the year :
i) Early morning Reading from 7.20am to 7.45 am. Other than textbook English Panel
decided to use the Literature Book as the reading material. English reading day will be
decided as soon as possible.
ii) English Week.
iii) English Quiz (2 times )
iv) Literature Year 4 The Jungle Book and The King of Kites.
Year 5 Gullivers Travel and Something Weird
Happened.
Year 6 Anthology of Poems for Year 4, 5 , 6.
v) Lesson Study ( The topic to be decided later on )

1. 1.1 Ucapan Ketua Panitia Semua guru.
1.1.1 Ketua panitia mengalu alukan kedatangan semua guru.
1.1.2 Beliau mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua guru
kerana memberikan kerjasama yang sehingga kini.
1.1.3 Beliau berharap kerjasama ini dapat diteruskan lagi

Beliau menyatakan bahawa Bahasa Melayu adalah mata
pelajaran yang penting.

mencabar kepada murid murid sekolah Tamil.
2.1.3 Pencapaian Bahasa Melayu dalam UPSR 2005 menunjukkan
peningkatan. Harapan dapat meneruskan usaha
mempertingkatkannya pada tahun ini. Segala langkah yang
diambil akan sentiasa disokong oleh beliau.

3. 3.1 Pengesahan minit mesyuarat Semua guru.

3.1.1 Minit mesyuarat dicadangkan oleh Pn. Mary Clara dan
 disokong oleh Pn. Lourde Mary.

4. 4.1 Perkara Berbangkit Semua guru.

4.1.1 Ketua Panitia meminta semua guru BM memberikan
kerjasama dalam penggunaan BM dengan lebih banyak.
Berbual dengan mereka dalam Bahasa Melayu bukan sahaja
waktu pengajaran malah sepanjang waktu mereka berada di
sekolah.
4.1.2 Beliau juga meminta guru guru menyediakan lebih banyak
carta dalam bilik darjah supaya murid murid dapat melihat
dan menghayati perkara perkara dalam carta itu.
4.1.3 Perkara seperti dwibahasakan perkataan yang sukar dan
melatih tubi juga boleh dijalankan.
4.1.4 Cikgu Krishnaveni juga menyarankan kepada murid murid
agar mengunjungi dan menggunakan perpustakaan. Bila
bila masa terluang, murid boleh dating dan menggunakan
PSS.

5. 5.1 Analisis keputusan PKSR 1 2006 Semua guru

5.1.2 Menurut analisis guru panitia meminta kerjasama semua
guru bahasa melipat gandakan usaha bagi
mempertingkatkan markah murid dalam peperiksaan akan
datang. Tahap pencapaian masih tidak memuaskan.
Keseluruhannya hendaklah mengambil perhatian yang
serius.

6. 6.1 KIA 2M Guru Tahun 1.

6.1.1 Kursus KIA 2M telah diwakili oleh Cik Nor Hafizoh pada
22 hingga 24 Mac 2006 di Naza Hotel Pulau Pinang. Tujuan
kursus adalah untuk menangani masalah buta huruf iaitu
membaca dan menulis.
6.1.2 Ketua Panitia meminta kerjasama guru Tahun 1 memastikan
projek ini dijalankan dengan sempurna dan mengenal pasti
murid yang lemah agar diberikan kelas KIA.
6.1.3 Ujian KIA 2M dijalankan pada 3 hingga 7 April 2006.
Melibatkan kemahiran membaca, mendengar dan menulis.
Hanya separuh daripada murid tahun satu ini yang masih
tidak dapat menguasai kemahiran ini.
 6.1.4 Ujian berikutnya akan dijalankan dalam bulan Julai.

7. 7.1 Program Panitia Semua guru.

7.1.1 Ketua Panitia meminta kerjasama semua guru bagi
menjalankan projek panitia seperti yang dirancangkan.

8. 8.1 P & P di Bilik Darjah Semua guru.

8.1.1 Guru Besar meminta semua guru mengikuti seperti yang
dibincangkan dalam minit mesyuarat yang lalu.
9. 9.1 Peningkatan UPSR Semua guru.
9.1.1 Seperti tahun lepas, Ketua Panitia mencadangkan
Rancangan aktiviti seperti melatih tubi karangan, membina
ayat, simpulan bahasa, kata ganda, dan sebagainya
diteruskan walaupun soalan dalam format baru
diperkenalkan

10. 10.1 Kelas Bimbingan UPSR Semua guru

10.1.1 Motivasi semasa cuti persekolahan dan di masa akan datang Bahasa.
akan membantu dalam pandedahan format baru.
10.1.2 Semasa kelas bimbingan guru guru hendaklah
memokuskan kepada latihan dalam format baru. Segala
keraguan boleh diurus dengan guru bahasa Tahun 6.

11. 11.1Headcount Semua guru

11.1.1 Borang borang mesti diisikan berdasarkan pencapaian Bahasa.
murid dalam PKBS 1.
11.1.2 Guru Besar meminta guru guru mengambil tindakan
untuk memberikan kesedaran kepada mereka.

15.1.1 Sudut mata pelajaran mesti disediakan. Bahasa.
15.1.2 Semua buku kerja murid dan latihan harus disemak.
