3 Objectives
1. We would use different resources to support what they
learned (10.4) using books to connect the children to learn
more about bats.
2. They will also demonstrate an interest in reading (11.1)
they will respond to questions and look at the pictures and
make connections
3. (11.2) They will be able to identify personal preference in
reading from hearing me reading out loud.
Who will be involved in the experience?
All 30 of the children will be involved.
Where will the experience take place?
This activity will take place at the end of the day when we meet
at the carpet before the prayer.
Materials Used
- Fly Guy Bats Book
How will the activity be implemented?
As this activity will be implemented during circle time I will start
off by asking if they remember what animal we learned about last
week. I will then ask them if they remember anything about the
bats, where they live, when do they come out and etc. I will then
introduce the book Ill read. Throughout the reading I will ask
question on what they see to encourage the children to participate
and stay focused on the book.
Teaching Strategies
1. Questions It will help the children tie in what is written
in the book and what we are talking about. As well as the
children will be able to interact and connect between what
they see and hear.
2. Sensory Engagement the children will be able to use
their sight and hearing to connect what is being read and
connect it to the pictures and what they have previously
learned about bats.
