This study aims to identify the positive politeness strategies performed by the
main character in Ron Clark movie. Likewise, this study find out how often the
positive politeness strategies performed and which type of positive politeness
strategies that are most frequently used by the main character in the movie. The writer
classified and described the kinds and the meaning of positive politeness strategies of
the main character in The Ron Clark movie.
The writer used qualitative method by collecting data from watching the movie,
reading the script, classifying and analyzing the data into kinds of positive politeness
strategies. The data of this study were collected from the utterances of the main
character in the movie. Then, the data were classified into kinds of positive politeness
strategies proposed by Brown and Levinson.
As the result, the writer found 25 data of positive politeness strategies
performed by the main character in the movie. Positive politeness strategies in this
study found that strategy 2 found one data (4%), strategy 4 found three data (12%),
strategy 5 found six data (24%), strategy 6 found one data (4%), strategy 9 found one
data (4%), strategy 10 found two data (8%), strategy 11 found two data (8%), strategy
12 found four data (16%), strategy 13 found three data (12%), strategy 15 found two
data (8%).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi kesantunan positif yang

dilakukan oleh tokoh utama dalam "Ron Clark" film. Demikian juga, penelitian ini
mengetahui seberapa sering strategi kesantunan positif dilakukan dan jenis strategi
kesantunan positif yang paling sering digunakan oleh tokoh utama dalam film.
Penulis diklasifikasikan dan menggambarkan jenis dan makna strategi kesantunan
positif dari tokoh utama dalam The Ron Clark film.
Penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mengumpulkan data dari
menonton film, membaca script, mengklasifikasikan dan menganalisis data ke jenis
strategi kesantunan positif. Data penelitian ini dikumpulkan dari ucapan-ucapan dari
karakter utama dalam film. Kemudian, data diklasifikasikan ke dalam jenis strategi
kesantunan positif yang diusulkan oleh Brown dan Levinson.
Sebagai hasilnya, penulis menemukan 25 data strategi kesantunan positif yang
dilakukan oleh tokoh utama dalam film. strategi kesantunan positif dalam penelitian
ini menemukan bahwa strategi 2 menemukan satu data (4%), strategi 4 menemukan
tiga data (12%), strategi 5 menemukan enam data (24%), strategi 6 menemukan satu
data (4%), strategi 9 menemukan satu data (4%), strategi 10 menemukan dua data
(8%), strategi 11 menemukan dua data (8%), strategi 12 menemukan empat data
(16%), strategi 13 menemukan tiga data (12%), strategi 15 menemukan dua data
(8%).
