Implementation:

1. I will trace all of the letters and numbers needed for the
door.
2. I will cut out each letter and number.
3. I will laminate all of them and then cut them out for the
door.
4. I will place everything on the door and decorate it
attractively.
5. I will introduce the door to the children next time I am
in the class, and get them engaging in conversation
about bullying.

Objectives:

1. The children will (Belonging and Contributing: 22.1)

communicate their ideas about something, as they
observe the door and engage in discussions about
bullying. The children may discuss their ideas about
bullying, or times they may have felt bullied in the past
and talk about how it made them feel (The
Kindergarten Program, 2016, pg.135).
2. The children will (Belonging and Contributing: 26.1)
understand that everyone belongs to a
group/community, and that people can belong to more
than one community as we discuss the concept of
bullying with the class. The children will feel as
though they are part of a community within the
classroom as they observe their personal coins all
around the door. They will also begin to understand
that all of their friends may come from diverse
communities, and that even though they may be
different, they are all still special in their own way
(The Kindergarten Program, 2016, pg. 139).
3. The children will (Demonstrating Literacy and Math
Behaviours: 10.4) use classroom resources to support
their writing, as they examine the different numbers
and words on the door and become familiar with them.
Through seeing the words and numbers, they can begin
to learn them as well as practice writing them (The
Kindergarten Program, 2016, pg.202).
