Are We Congruent?
1, Without using your protractor, look at the angles drawn below and on the next page
and list the ones you think might be congruent.
2. Measure all of the angles on these pages twice. Try to be as accurate as you can.
Write the measure of the angle next to it.
3. Which of these angles are congruent?
4. Does the orientation of an angle affect its measure? Does the length of the legs of an
angle affect its measure? Explain,

Fun House Figures
The geometric figures shown below were on the walls of the Fun House. When they were
reflected in one of the Fun House mirrors, strange things happened to the figures. Some
looked identical or congruent to the original figures, some were enlarged or reduced but
looked similar to the original figures, and some looked quite different from the original
figures!
1. Compare each of the figures labeled 1~10 with the figures on the next page labeled
AJ. Decide if the A-} figures are congruent, similar, or neither when compared to
the ones labeled 1-10. Check your guesses by cutting out all the figures and testing,
to see if nesting them by congruent angles confirms your conjecture.
2. Group figures together and tape or glue them to a separate sheet of paper. Write
about the relationships you notice between and among figures. Be sure to mention if
the figures are congruent, similar, or neither and explain why.

Sometimes similar? Never similar? Use examples to help
