$ Reflection 1

How did you feel on the first day?

I feel stress and I think all the time about my teacher and the student that I
will meet them if they gone love me or not but when I went to class and
I meet them I feel comfortable with teacher because she's very helpful and
friendly and she tell us to help her in the class with student. It's was really
good day and in the end of the day they celebrate a birthday of one of
the student and it was the planner day for the lesson but the teacher tell us
to go home because its our first day in the school.

What did you do to show that you are a professional?

I came on the time and we wait for the teacher to have a meeting with the
principal of the school. I ask the teacher a portion when I want to take any
thing from the class and when I leave. Also I ask the teacher if she need any
help in the class or after the class. I show respect for the teacher when i
listen to her when she talk and for the student when they ask me any
question or show me they do in the class and they want to hear my opinion
in their work.

Write a summary of what you believe the main roles and responsibilities of a
teacher are.

- What surprised you? On our first day the first class the student was very
quiet and they listen to their teacher but in the second class there was a
party and they bring a cake for the student the teacher tells us that the
student will not hear anything after eating this cake and the student finish
and the teacher start the class they were very noisy and they wear playing
while the teacher asking them a question about the lesson so that make me
surprise because this teacher know her student very well.

- What shocked you? When I was in the class I see a boy he looks very
handsome and cute but he was hyperactive he was moving I keep
asking myself why he moving too much and he was wearing a hat but
the weather was very hut and put his hand on his ear when someone
talk very loud so when he moves the hat from his head I saw his ear he
just have one ear because of that he wear a hat that makes me so
shock but I didnt feel like that the teacher give him his full attention
because he need someone to watch him all the time.

- What delighted you? I was really happy when I saw the student come to
them teacher every time when they done from their work because they want
to hear from her a good words to keep them happy.

-The idea of learners being active learners. Discuss how the classroom
organization facilitates activities for the learners. Give examples of
activities you observed and the way in which the classroom
organization makes these activities accessible. Consider ease of
movement within the learning environment. In the early morning the
teacher every day she bring with her a( mandolin ) its an music
instrument. The teacher start to sing the morning greeting with
mandolin and she start to move with song to keep sure that the
student are active and they are ready to start their lesson.
-How and where are materials stored in the classroom? Do the
children/learners need to be able to get and put materials away? There
are many table in the class to keep the materials away from the
student on each of this table a name to help the teacher to remember
where did she put the materials.
-Where does the teacher have her table/papers/materials? The
teacher have her own table and she put every thing that she will use it
in the class on her table the paper and some hand work that she do it
for the lesson.
-Are there areas that encourage independent learning? Give some examples.
Why are these areas important? Yes the library area in the class , the teacher
every morning tell each student to take a story to read it by themselves that
will help the student to He relies on themselves without the teacher help to
read.

-Why is planning and preparation for learning important? Its


important for the teacher to know what they achieve in class and make
organize and that will make him more comfortable and confident from
his self when he start the lesson.
-What do you have to think about before you begin to plan for learning
? first I will think for an easy way to give the student the lesson and
also I will think about a way to let this student not forget this lesson so
I will find for a good activity to let them have fun and enjoy the lesson.
-What stages did the teacher go through in order to be prepared for
teaching? The first the teacher should think about the way to let the
student get the information and next she think about some activity to
support the lesson and let the student to think.

- What have you noticed about learners from this observation? Yousef is
an quite person he cant what the teacher tell him to do very quickly so
need time to do his work and you should tell him many time to keep
sure that he get the information.
- What did you notice that relates to the theories we have been
discussing? Mildred Parten theory and it go for parallel play and that
mean that the child play alone but beside the other children that what
happen with Yousef.

- What interested or surprised you? What surprise me that Yousef didnt


know all the number yet even if the teacher repeat the number
everyday to make sure that the student didnt forget the numbers and
they will know about it all the time.

What was the same or different about the two learners? There are
many diffrients between this two student shmook is an active student
in the class shes a clever and she think before answer any question
and shes the first student who raises her hand in the class if the
teacher ask a question also shes a social girl who talk and help her
friends but Yousef is a shy student he do the work that teacher ask him
to do but he never speak with anyone in the class and if he talk he will
speak in low voice.

What did you notice that relates to the theories we have been
discussing?
I agree with ERIKSON theory about that the thing that he say about the
type of play is exactly about shmook

What interested or surprised you?


I was surprised when she start to color her draw she know how to use
the pencil and when she color she color inside the line and she choose
many color to finish her work.

1. What worked well and why? When she takes the student who
misbehavior with their friends in the class to the chair punishment that
work because the student cant see anything from the lesson because
his punishment to see the wall so the will be more Curious to see what
happened behind his back that will make him feel sorry about what he
did.

2. What useful tips and strategies did you observe? When some student
shows the teacher their work she tells them that was amazing but you
should do that and that to make everything perfect so the student will
be happy because the teacher tells them something positive about
their work so that will make the student finish their work because of
this word.

3. What techniques do you think the teacher uses to manage the children
and why? Each student have his own place in the class so the teacher
always tell them to think before they do or say anything that will help
them use their mind to think about what the teacher want form them.

4. Are there any children in the class with difficult or unusual behavior?
How does the teacher deal with these children? We have one student
who have some problem in his ear so I think that the teacher not give
him her full attention because his always moving and he run away
from the class so he need someone to watch him all the time.

5. Overall, is the teacher more negative or positive when dealing with


management issues? Why? She an positive teacher who can dill with
the problem because she always thinking before doing anything and if
she want tell anyone a thing that maybe will make him sad shes
always start with good words.

1. How long do the children spend on one task? They take for 15-30
minutes.

2. What kind of tasks do they do individually? In pairs? In groups? As a


class? The teacher give the student a task to do in group and in each
group there is a different activity to do.

3. How does the teacher introduce the task? How are the instructions
checked? The teacher give her student a roles for every activity and
she tell them to follow the role and she tell them before they start
what should they do and how will they do.

4. Work with a child. Ask him/her about what they enjoy doing at school.
The activities/subjects and why. They like the Arabic subject because
the teacher when she want to tell them anything she say it like a song
so he love the way of the teacher acting.

5. Ask a child about the things they are good at and also about what they
want to learn more about. They are good in counting numbers in
Arabic and English and they want to do more activity and they like
doing activity more that set on the carpet and hear the teachers.

1. How often do the children attend this class? The student gives this
class their full attention because they enjoy and having fun.

2. What kind of learning tasks place and why is it considered important?


This lesson important because its makes the student energetic and
active because they keep moving and dancing.

3. What special skills /training does the teacher need? I think that the
teacher dont need a training because she know what the movement
that make the student happy and more active.

4. What special equipment/facilities/resources are needed?


The teacher use the circle shape and she let the student jump from one
circle the other one to let them know about the jump movement which
they take it in the lesson.

5. Ask a child what they enjoy about this class. Ask them what they
learn? I ask the student about this class and they like this class because
the teacher make them feel exciting and curious about the next
movement.

6. Do you notice any special techniques that the teacher uses? The
teacher have a special dance for them each movement have a special
song and special shake to do it.

7. Does the teacher use strategies which are different from their main
teacher? She have a special dance just for this class.

8. What did you enjoy about the lesson? Yes because I love when the
student move and they are happy and active and they want to move
more and more.
$ Reflection 10

What maths or science concept the learners are studying e.g. numbers,
addition, measurement? At the two weeks that we stay in the class we
take the day and night on science subject and the teacher show them
some stuff that we do it in the day and the night and let them find by
them self the different between both of them.

Did the students seem to enjoy the lesson? Why or why not? The
student enjoy this class because they start to think about the question
and they want to say everything right because the teacher will put
sticker in their hand like a gift.

Were students using the new math or science language in English? In


Arabic? They use this two language in this class because when the
student is not getting what the English teacher tell them the Arabic
teacher translate it on Arabic language to keep sure that they
understand the lesson.
