MOVIE REVIEW
1. Describe the racial situation!
In the beginning, each person only socializes with their own racial groups and
opposes anyone that is outside their groups. They are extremely loyal to their
gang and will do whatever it takes to protect their race, including lying and
putting the blame on someone for a crime they didnt do. In addition, the
Caucasians often get special treatment, which causes tension between them
and the other races.
2. What insight have you gained from the film?
We should not let other people define who we are and each of us is capable of
making changes.
3. Who among the characters impressed you most? Why?
Marcus impressed me the most because despite his rough childhood, he is
quite open-minded and very sincere in his effort to change into a better person.
4. Which part/episode of the film do you like best? Explain!
The part where the class plays the game with the line because in this moment,
the students realize that they are actually not very different from one another.
Although they have diverse backgrounds and cultures, they have experienced
similar things and can relate with each other.
5. What can you infer from the film that in line with the statements in the text
The Nature of Prejudice?
From the film, I can infer that people are often oblivious to the fact that they
are prejudiced, as proven by how the teachers treat Victoria differently from
the other Honors Class students. Furthermore, based on Mrs. Campbells
attitude towards the students, it is difficult to change a persons opinion once
they have a prejudiced view on something. However, we should not let
prejudice control us.
