Section A: Directed Writing (35 Marks)

You are advised to spend about 45 minutes on this section.

QUESTION

You are the head prefect of your school. At the end of the new school term, you have been asked to write
an article for your school magazine which will be published soon about common rules and regulations
to be practiced in your school. Write out your article using the notes below:

Attire white shoes and socks

Hair girls-short or long, long hair must be tied up

When writing your article, you must:

Use the correct format for the article
provide a topic and use all the notes given
provide two (2) more ways to practise good conduct in school
 SECTION B : CONTINUOUS WRITING (50 MARKS)

Write a composition of about 350 words on one of the following topics :

1. Describe a dream you would never forget.

2. A person who scores straight As is a very intelligent person. What do you think?

3. You learn many things while travelling. Discuss.

4. You have just met a long lost friend after many years. You spent a whole day with her and realise that
she has changed a lot since the last time you met her.
Write a story about you friend beginning with:

SCHOOL RULES AND REGULATIONS

The school term is going to start soon. I am the head
prefect of this school. It is time for me to remind all
students on our school rules and regulations.
Firstly , all students must wear proper school attire.
Their uniforms must be neat. Please wear white shoes
and socks. You will look smart if your school attire is
proper.
 Next please make sure your nails are short. As for
the girls you cannot wear nail polish. If the discipline
teachers find you with nail polish they will take action
against you.
Furthermore, as students you must have good conduct.
Our principal have strict rules on this matter. Students are
not allowed to play truant in school. Next you must respect
our school teacher. Students who dont respect their
teachers will be suspended from school. Of course you also
cannot loiter in the school compound. The most important
rule in this school is students cannot smoke.
Last but not least, students cannot bring hand phones to
the class. The discipline teachers will confiscate the phones
which will only be returned after 1 month. Students also
cannot eat in the classroom.
