DURING SHARED READING WE. hhave been discussing what digraphs (two letters, one sound) and blends (two letters, two sounds) are during, ‘Shared Reading and what makes them so special. We hhave been listing words that we find in books that start with the different digraphs and blends. See if your child can tell you what each one is and some different words that start with each. FYI In last week's Friday Folder, you should have received 2 100 Book Club letter and form. As you read each night, record the book ttle, date and initial the log. You can read to your child or they can read to you! Old favorites (books read more than once) are okay! The g0al will be 100 books, but please send in your form. when you get to 25, 50, and 75 too, for your child to receive a special treat and recognition for their progress, In case you ever misplace your child’s form, a copy is located on our classroom blog for you to print if needed. The Holiday Program is coming up Thursday, December 7". During this program, each grade will perform songs/routines they have learned in music class with Mr. Meyer. Doors open at $:45 pm with the program starting at 6:00. Kindergarten’s theme is “The Night Sky’ so we are asking the children to wear black. Additional ideas to complete your child’s outfit can be ‘anything that glitters or sparkles (¢.g., hair bows, sweaters, bracelets with stars or sequins.) Make sure to bring your camera and other family members if they are in town! | will put a reminder (label) on the children that afternoon to help you remember. | would like to thank everyone that helped and made our ‘Camp Day at Town Creek Park the best ever! Between sending in items for various stations/activities, cooking and serving hot dogs, transporting lunches, walking to and from the park, your support meant all the difference. Thanks to everyone that made this day possible, As the cooler months are arriving and children are beginning to wear jackets, please make sure their names printed in them. It helps out tremendously if they are ever misplaced! NEEDED Ifyour mailbox at home is like mine, it is constantly full of credit card applications, bills, donation requests, subscriptions, etc. Ifyou find yourself tossing the return envelopes in the trash, we would love to have them for our writing center! We need clear, gallon-sized plastic jugs (e.g., gallon milk containers) for an activity we will be doing later this month, Since the cooler months are here, I think it would be a good idea for everyone to send in a warmer change of clothes to have at school. I'll make sure to return the clothes I currently have, from the beginning of the year, when I receive a new set from you, When spring gets here, 'll be sure to put another reminder in the newsletter about swapping again.
