We are in need of a portable sound system. This past
weekend we had our second annual procession and
recitation of the Rosary on parish grounds. It was difficult
at best to hear the prayers and to be able to pray as a
community outside. If anyone would like to donate a
portable sound system for this purpose, please call the
rectory.

STEWARDSHIP: Called to be Grateful: Stewardship a Way of
Life; Psalms 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; let us
rejoice and be glad in it.” It is human nature to take the good
fortune in our lives be granted. We think to ourselves, “I am
healthy. I have a good job. I have done well for myself.” But,
when we suffer misfortune, we think, “How could God do this to
me?” We have so many miracles in our lives: the gift of each day,
the love of family and friends, the abundance of the earth. Let us
begin every day with a prayer of thanks to the Lord for the
overflowing blessings in our lives.

St. Pio Prayer Group-On the 1st Friday of each month,
the St. Pio prayer service begins at 7:30 PM in the
Church. After the service refreshments will be served in
the Church Auditorium and a video on the life of the Saint
will be shown.
During the prayer service there is a veneration of a 1st class relic
of the Saint’s blood. If you are interested in joining, please contact

know how many prayer booklets and refreshments will be
required.
Our summer Rectory hours will be in effect until
Friday, Sept. 3rd. During the summer season
our Rectory will close at 12:00 noon on Friday
and reopen at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Our regular hours will resume after Labor Day.

Mark This Year's Calendar - November 7, 2010
Our 60th Anniversary Gala will begin with Mass at 3 pm
celebrated by Bishop John Flesey, D.D.. Mass will be
followed by a reception from 5 - 9 pm at the Hasbrouck
Heights Hilton. Good food, fun, fellowship, and great
dancing with a fabulous live band.
Ticket orders for the dinner /dance are due by September
15th. There are only 250 tickets available, and 104
have been sold already. Be sure to get your order in
soon. Don't miss the fun!

vestibule, in the Rectory office, and can be downloaded
from our website.

Palermo in Sicily. In her youth, her heart turned from earthly

The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (HR 5939) has
been introduced by NJ Congressmen Chris Smith (202-
225-3765) and Dan Lipinski (708-305-6289). If passed, this
bill will establish a government-wide statutory prohibition
on taxpayer funded abortions. It will also codify the Hyde-
Weldon conscious clause which would protect health care
providers who refuse to participate in abortion procedures.

Dear Parish Family,
How are you preparing to begin this Fall Season? The kids are a
year older in both life and school; sports and after-school
activities are resuming. The weather is beginning to change, the
winter at times looking to be warmer than those past and at other
times looking to be far colder. The unifying theme being that
everything changes, whether for good or bad.
One thing that does not change is God’s love for us. He is truly
omnipotent. We can help ourselves deepen our faith and
strengthen all aspects of our life through spiritual stability. One
way to work towards attaining spiritual stability is through regular
prayer.
While all aspects of life may change, one should not, and that is
our devotion to our Lord, Jesus. Thank you.

Why should I register in the parish?

All members of the parish ought to be formally registered as members of the parish. However you MUST be formally registered if you
wish to arrange a Baptism, a Confirmation or a Wedding in the parish Church. You MUST also be formally registered if you wish to
register in the Parish School or the Religious Education (CCD) Program. You must be a registered member of the parish for at least
three months before you can obtain a Sponsor Certificate or schedule a Baptism or a Wedding.

New Parishioners are requested to register in the Parish as soon as possible. Please notify the Parish office
