Study Abroad Student Leader, May 2016 Study Abroad Course to Rwanda
Explored restorative justice practices in Rwanda, a country working towards reconciliation after
the genocide in 1994
Collaborated with other student leaders, both at Hamline and in Rwanda, and the courses
professor to develop a student workshop about youth involvement in restorative justice
movements
Presented on youth involvement in the American Civil Rights Movement at a workshop at the
Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences in Butare, Rwanda
Led discussions in Rwanda after visiting genocide memorials and organizations working towards
reconciliation through restorative justice practices
Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, Spring 2016
Studied the realities of being involved in the criminal justice system alongside fellow Hamline
students and currently incarcerated individuals
Explored alternative forms of justice and how they may be applied to our current criminal justice

coworkers to keep community support for the program

Wrote treatment plans which detailed the relevant history and programming recommendations for

Conducted office work including, electronic data entry of records, grant writing, and fundraising
Sought donations for the organizations annual raffle fundraiser, including mailing letters to local
businesses and completing electronic donation requests
