Active barrier
1 System description
The active barrier galvanically separates 4...20 mA signal
circuits. The unit has an active current input to which a
transmitter can be connected. A additional power supply is
therefore not required. A current signal is available at the output
(passive output) for connection to further instrumentation. Bi-
directional HART -communication with SMART-transmitters is
possible using the built-in communication sockets (with
resistance R = 250 ).
2 Mechanical installation
Installation hints:
- The installation area must be vibration free.
- The permissible operating ambient temperature
is -20...+50 C.
- Protect the unit from heat sources.

4 Technical data
Operation and system construction
Measuring Active barrier with power supply for safe separation of 4...20 mA current
principle signal circuits. The unit has an optional intrinsically safe input. The
current transmitted from the transmitter to the input circuit (4...20 mA) is
linearly transmitted to the output.
Measurement The unit creates a safe galvanic isolation between input and output of
system the circuits. Separation between hazardous and non-hazardous areas is
available as an option. A built-in loop power supply can supply
connected sensors with the necessary energy. A current signal is
available at the output (passive output) for connection to further
instrumentation. Bi-directional HART-communication with SMART
transmitters is possible using the built-in communication sockets (with
resistance R = 250 ).

Voeding / scheider
1 Systeem beschrijving
noodzakelijk. Het stroomsignaal staat aan de uitgang
(passieve uitgang) voor verdere verwerking ter beschikking.
Een bi-directionele HART-communicatie met SMART-
transmitters is direct mogelijk via ingebouwde communicatie
stekerbussen (v.v. de benodigde serieweerstand van 250 ).
2 Montage en installatie
Inbouwaanwijzingen:
- De inbouwplaats moet vrij zijn van trillingen.
- De toelaatbare omgevingstemperatuur tijdens het meten
moet liggen tussen de -20 50 C.
- Het instrument beschermen tegen overdrachts- of
stralingswarmte.

instrumenten of PLCs. Een ingebouwde communicatie weerstand
(R = 250 ) maakt een bi-directionele HART-communicatie mogelijk
met SMART-transmitters.

4 Dati tecnici
Lalimentazione integrata in
