BOOM OF YOGA

Derived from the Sanskrit word yuj, Yoga means union of the individual consciousness
or soul with the Universal Consciousness or Spirit. Yoga is a 5000-year-old Indian body
of knowledge. Though many thinks of yoga only as a physical exercise where people
twist, turn, stretch, and breathe in the most complex ways, these are actually only the
most superficial aspect of this profound science of unfolding the infinite potentials of the
human mind and soul. The science of Yoga imbibes the complete essence of the Way
of Life.

As Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says, Yoga is not just exercise and asanas. It is the
emotional integration and spiritual elevation with a touch of mystic element, which gives
you a glimpse of something beyond all imagination.
Yoga got a new life in 2003 when baba Ramdev started coming on TV popularizing

There has been 30% rise in the yoga practitioners across the metros in India according
to the ASSOCHAM survey report. The survey was conducted during the course of past
two months in wake of the International Day of Yoga celebrated globally on June 21.
Report also suggest that "One of the key reasons for increased popularity of yoga is that
of late it has developed as a panacea for the ailments of modern society tech overload.
In India a separate ministry has been formed by the name of AYUSH which promotes
the yoga, Ayurveda and homeopathy to increase the awareness and increase research
practices, promote people to join this sector its a good initiative which have taken by
taken by the government to increase the growth of this sector and healthy practices
among the individuals. Government has also asked Indian corporate houses to adopt
yoga as a part of their culture to improve the productivity of their employees to make
them stress free while working.
