We will be looking at how we can show stories from the Bible through our writing.
We will specifically be looking at the story of Creation.

The students are interested in making books in the writing center.
Students have an understanding of the basics of literacy, for example, that books
are read left to right.

Differentiating Instruction

Product-Each group will create a different page of the book.
Interest- There will be some students who will learn through the hearing of the story, some through the art
medium of drawing it, and some through retelling the story.
Groups of students- the students will be in their table groups to retell the story.

Procedure with time allotments:


A) Hook/Engage/Pre-Assess Students
We will start by calling the students to Jesus time.
B) Communicate the purpose of the lesson to students (objective/assessment)
Today we will be learning about the story of Creation and then retelling
that story through a book.
C) Instructional Sequence:
First, we will read the story of creation from the childrens version of the
Bible.
Second, we will have them match the days of creation to the days in their
groups.
Third, they will make a page of the Creation book, which we will put
together as a class.
Finally, they will finish with a song about Creation.
D) Closure:
We will say a prayer, thanking God for Creation.
