Overview

The SkillsFuture Work-Study (SWS) Degree Programmes

place a higher level of collaboration between academia and
industry partners to provide prospective students with deep
industry knowledge and meaningful career opportunities for
the workplace. The programmes are run by the Singapore
Institute of Technology (SIT), in partnership with several
companies and agencies, and are supported by the Ministry of
Education, Singapore.

These pilot "cooperative programmes"

will be led by the Singapore Institute of
Technology and SIM University, and they
will partner organisations including
Singtel, Singapore Power, The Ascott,
CapitaLand and Standard Chartered, in
addition to government agencies like the
Defence Science and Technology Agency
and the Cyber Security Agency of
Singapore.

SWS MODEL OF STUDY

Work-Day / Study-Day (WD/SD) 4 + 1

Students alternate between working four days in the partner
company, and studying in university for the remaining one
day or two half-day per week.
Students are to commit to one full-time study trimester in
Year 1 trimester 2 (Jan Apr).
In Year 3 Trimester 3, students are to attend an Overseas
Immersion Programme (OIP) at University of Glasgow for 3
weeks (between May Aug).
Full duration of the BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering under
the SWS Degree Programme is 4 years.

SWS APPLICATION PROCESS

SIT admission exercise will commence between January till

March each year.

Commencement of study for the student will begin in

September of each year.
