FINAREQUIREDELEMENTSFORTECHNICALROUTINES

GENERALREQUIREMENTS
1. InWorldJuniorChampionships,RequiredElementsforJuniorCategoriesareused.
2. Unlessotherwisespecifiedinthedescriptionofanelement:
All figures or components thereof shall be executed according to the
requirementsdescribedinappendicesIIIV.
Allelementsshallbeexecutedhighandcontrolled,inuniformmotionwith
eachsectionclearlydefined.
3. RequiredElements#1#5shallbejudgedwithintheElementsscore.
4. RequiredElements15aretobeperformedintheorderlisted.
Itisstronglyrecommended,forclarityofjudgmentthatRequiredElements#1
#5areseparatedbyothercontent.
5. ForSolo,DuetandMixedDuetonly,RequiredElements#1#5shallbeperformed
parallel to the sides of the pool where the panels of judges are seated. Penalties

SENIOR

SOLOREQUIREDELEMENTS

1. Starting in a Submerged Back Pike Position with the legs perpendicular to the
surface,aThrustisexecutedtoaVerticalPositionandwithnolossofheightoneleg
israpidlyloweredtoaBentKneePositionandastheverticallegisloweredforward,
thebentkneeisextendedtoassumean AirborneSplitPosition andmaintaining
maximumheightthelegsareliftedsymmetricallytoaVerticalPosition,followedby
aVerticalDescent.Allmovementsareexecutedrapidly.[DD2.7]


2. A Dolphin is initiated,andthebackcontinuestoarchtoassumea SurfaceArch
Position. The legs are lifted to a Vertical Position. Two Full Twists (720) are
executed,andcontinuinginthesamedirectionaContinuousSpin1080(3rotations)
isexecuted.[DD3.4]

3. 141Stingray
AFlamingoisexecutedtoaSurfaceFlamingoPosition,travellingheadfirst.With
theballetlegmaintainingitsverticalposition,thehipsareliftedasthetrunkunrolls
whilethebentlegmovestoassumeaFishtailPosition.Thehorizontallegisliftedin
anarcoverthesurface.Asitpassestheverticallegwhichmovessymmetrically,a
180rotationisstartedandiscompletedasaSplitPositionisassumed.AWalkout

Maintaining the legs vertical, the body submerges to a Submerged Back Pike
Positionuntilthefeetarejustbelowthesurface.Executinga360rotationthebody
risestothesurfacesimultaneouslyloweringonelegwiththefootatthesurface,to
assumeaSurfaceFlamingoPosition.ThehorizontallegisstraightenedtoaBallet

3. StartingandmaintainingaFishtailPosition,withthehorizontallegleadingtoward
the vertical leg, 2 rapid rotations (720) are executed. Continuing in the same

4. ACycloneisexecutedtotheVerticalPosition.AHalfTwistisexecuted.Continuing

Position.Maintainingtheanglebetweenthelegs,thehorizontallegmovestovertical
astheverticallegsimultaneouslycontinuousitsarctothesurfacetoassumeaKnight
Position. The vertical leg is lowered to assume a Surface Arch Position, with

5. FromaFrontPikePositionthelegsareliftedtoaVerticalPositionAFullTwistis

Continuous Spin of 720 (2 rotations) as the bent knee is joined to a Vertical

7. The routine must contain at least one connected action, which can be placed

4. Manta Ray Hybrid: A Flamingo is executed to a Surface Flamingo Position,
travellingheadfirst.Withtheballetlegmaintainingitsverticalposition,thehipsare
liftedasthetrunkunrollswhilethebentlegmoveswiththekneeatthesurfaceto
assumeaFishtailPosition.ThehorizontallegisliftedrapidlytoaVerticalPosition,
withthehorizontallegleadingtowardtheverticalleg,asthebodyrotates180.The
legsareloweredrapidlysimultaneouslytoaBentKneeSurfaceArchPosition.The
bentkneeisstraightenedtoaSurfaceArchPositionandwithcontinuousmotion,an

5. FromaSubmergedBackPikePosition,withthelegsperpendiculartothesurface,a
BarracudaAirborneSplitisexecuted.[DD2.5]

6. Theroutinemustcontaintwoacrobaticmovements:oneusingallteammembers,and
onewheretheswimmersaredividedintotwosubgroupsdoingidenticalmovements
in the same direction and simultaneously. These may be placed anywhere in the
routine. Acrobatic movements: a general term for jumps, throws, lifts, stacks,
platforms, etc., which are performed as spectacular gymnastic feats and/or risky
actions,andaremostlyachievedwithassistancefromotherswimmer(s).
7. TheroutinemustcontainaCadenceActionwitheitherarms,legsorboth.Thismay
beplacedanywhereintheroutine.CadenceAction:Identicalmovement(s)performed
sequentially,onebyone,byallteammembers.Whenmorethanonecadenceactionis
performed,theymustbeconsecutiveandnotseparatedbyotheroptionalorrequired
elements. A second cadence action may begin before the first cadence action is
completedbyallteammembersbuteachteammembermustdotheactionofeach
cadence.
8. Acircleandastraightlinemustbeincludedintheroutine.
9. With exception of the deck work, entry, the throw and the Cadence Action, all
elements required and supplementary must be performed simultaneously and
facingthesamedirectionbyallteammembers.Variationsinpropulsionanddirection
facing are permitted only during pattern changes and underwater actions. Mirror

JUNIORSOLOREQUIREDELEMENTS

1. Starting in a Submerged Back Pike Position with the legs perpendicular to the

2. Starting in a Vertical Position, the body rotates 360 as the legs are lowered
symmetrically to assume a Split Position. Continuing in the same direction an
additional rotation of 360 is completed as the legs are raised symmetrically to
assumeaVerticalPosition.FollowedbyaContinuousSpin1080(3)inthesame
direction.[DD=2.5]

3. 141Stingray
AFlamingoisexecutedtoaSurfaceFlamingoPosition,travellingheadfirst.With
theballetlegmaintainingitsverticalposition,thehipsareliftedasthetrunkunrolls
