INTRODUCTION

In now a days providing the information to the customer plays the vital role
in any fields for improving the performance. In the virtue of this, we are
developing the application which helps in providing information to the user.

The application has the following modules

1. Administrator module
2. Student module
3. Lecturer module
4. Subject & Syllabus module
5. Examination module
6. Query module
7. General module

Administrator module:
This module again has sub modules which helps the administrator to perform the
different activities.

a. Student module:
The administrator will be able to add, modify, and delete the student information. It
may include student personal details as well as performances in the previous and
present examinations.

b. Lecturer module
The lecturer module helps the administrator to add, modify and delete the lecturer
information. The information will include the knowledge area, experience,
education etc.

c. Subject & Syllabus module

This module helps the administrator to add, modify or delete the subjects as well as
the syllabus.

d. Examination module
This module helps the administrator to add, modify and delete the questions
necessary for handling the online entrance examinations and displaying the results.

e. Query module
This module helps the administrator to view the queries sent from the users so that
he can send response back to the particular user. It also helps to send the feed back
about the application from the visitors.

f. General module
This module contains all the general information about colleges like courses
available, fees structure, hostel & library facilities, overall performance of the
students, status of the college etc. Only the administrator can change this
information and any user can view the details.

Enterprise student Information management system is is a web based and project
it helps in easy management of student information for college or school.

1.3 PROBLEM STATEMENT

PROJECT OBJECTIVE
The objective Enterprise student Information management system is
management of college actives like admission to college, attendance management
and fees details etc. The Enterprise student Information management system is web
based application which enables the above mentioned activities. This particular
project deals with the problems on managing college activities and avoids the
problems which occur when carried manually.

CHAPTER 2
LITERATURE SURVEY
Literature survey involves a detailed study of existing system and limitations. To
overcome the limitations the requirement is reanalyzed and a new system is
proposed. The new proposed system should provide more facilities than existing
system by residing in same constraints.

2.1 Existing system

For the past few years the number of students securing admission to colleges is
increasing rapidly. And hence there is a lot of strain on the person who are running
the colleges and softwares are not usually used in this context. This particular
project deals with the managing of student information for college or
school.Identification of the drawbacks of the existing system leads to the designing
of computerized system that will be compatible to the existing system with the
system which is more user friendly and more GUI oriented.
We can improve the efficiency of the system, thus overcome the following
drawbacks of the existing system.
More human error.
More strength and strain of manual labor needed
Repetition of the same procedures.
Low security
Data redundancy

record keeping is difficult

The proposed system provides students registrations & they get the unique
username and password that can be used to log in to Student Information
Management System. The Management of fees is carried out. The proposed system

a) Strategic Data and various types of report for college/college authority.
b) Basic and advance admin facilities like add/update/delete records,
back/recovery of data, generating various reports etc.

The report can be exported to different word/excel/xml/csv formats. Backup
and recovery of data is carried out easily. The proposed system consist of web
based attractive GUI and provides-easy-excess-to-its-user.
