2. Cannot power on
Solution:
1 Check if the battery connector and its soldering are oxidized or damaged
2 Check if the following voltage, and GND has short circuit or abnormal voltage
VBAT 3.8--4.2V
VCORE 0.7--1.4V
VSYS 1.825/2.2V
VPA O.5-3.4V
VTXCO 2.8V
VA 2.8V
VCAMA 2.8V
VCN28 2.8V
VCAMA 2.8V
VUSB 3.3V
VEMC_3V3 3.3V
3 Check if start-up circuit is abnormal
4 If the start-up circuit is about 20 MA, check if the soldering of crystal oscillator circuit is normal
5 For those start-up current abnormally above 1A, check if VBAT circuit is shorted to ground, investigate each
locations grounding diodes and other key components
6 For those start-up current abnormally around 100MA, touch if there is any heating part on MB and focus on
their investigation
7 X-ray: check each main chips soldering, CPU/Flash/PMIC(MT6580)
8 Add soldering or re-solder each main chip and confirm again
9 Replace CPU/Flash/PMIC

3. Blank screen

Solution:
1 Check if the backlight chip -- U901 driver chip has soldering deviation
2 Check the LCD connectors assembly is normal, if not please re-assemble
3 Check if L902s conduction is normal, and compare it to L902 voltage on normal MB
4 Check if D904s conduction is normal or the components soldering is reverse
5 Check if DISP_PWM0s signal is normal, and adjust this signals backlight brightness
6 Check if VBATs power supply is normal

4. LCD display failure

Solution:
1 Re-assembly LCD or replace LCD, then reboot again to observe
2 Check if LCD and its soldering is abnormal
3 Check if LCD filter (Z902Z906Z907Z908) is poorly soldered or damaged
4 X-ray: check if CPUs soldering is abnormal
5 Add soldering or re-solder CPU, or replace it

5. TP does not work

Solution:
1 Re-assemble or replace the CTP, then reboot to test again
2 Check if the CTP connector (J902) or its soldering is abnormal, re-solder or replace it to test again
3 Measure if VGP1_PMU voltage is normal
4 X-ray: check CPUs soldering, add soldering or re-solder it to test again
5 Use a multi-meter to measure CTP test signal point, compare its ground resistance with normal MBs

6. Gravity sensor failure

Solution:
1 Measure VIO18_PMU voltage
2 Add soldering or re-solder or replace the gravity sensor U807
3 Solder down U807, measure the corresponding pad ground impedance value compared to normal MBs
4 X-ray: check CPUs soldering, re-solder or replace CPU

7. Side key FPC failure

Solution:
1 Re-connect the side key FPC
2 Replace the side key FPC and test again
3 Check if KCOL0/KCOL1/POWERKEY s voltage signal is normal
4 X-ray: check CPU (Volume Key) s soldering
5 Add soldering or re-solder or replace CPU

8. Cannot get charged, fail to identify USB

Solution:
1 Check if USB connector has soldering deviation or is poorly soldered, may replace USB and test again
2 Replace the battery and test again
3 Replace the battery connector and test again
4 Re-solder Switching Charger (U503)
5 Re-solder PMIC (U501)

9. Rear camera function failure

Solution:
1 Check if the rear camera is well assembled, re-assemble or replace the camera and again
2 Check if the rear cameras J1005 B2B connector is damaged or poorly soldered, re-solder ore replace the
camera connector
3 Check VCAM_AF_PMU 2.8V/VCAMA_PMU 2.8V/VCMA_1 2.8V voltage
4 Check Z1003Z1005 EMI filter is damaged or poorly soldered
5 Add soldering or re-solder or replace CPU

10. Front camera function failure

Solution:
1 Check if the front camera is well assembled, re-assemble or replace the camera and test again
2 Check if the front cameras J1006 connector is damaged or poorly soldered, re-solder or replace the
connector
3 Check VCAMA-1 2.8V/VCAMA_IO_PMU 1.8V/VGP3_PMU 1.8V voltage is abnormal, if abnormal, check if
PMIC outputs abnormally, or if the peripheral circuit has short/ open circuit
4 Check if the front camera filter (Z1006Z1008) is damaged or poorly soldered
5 Add soldering or re-solder or replace CPU

11. Motor fault

Solution:
1 Measure VIBR_PMU MOT+MOT- magnitude of voltage and compare to normal MBs
2 Re-solder or replace the motor and test again
3 Replace the motor connector and test again
4 Re-solder or replace PMIC (U501)

12. GSM network failure

Solution:
1 If GSM 850&900 TRX fails, measure if L220/ L222circuit are normal, re-solder or replace differential
transducer (U208 )/ RF power amplifier (U101) in turn.
2 If GSM 1800&1900 TRX fails, measure if C121/C122 circuit are normal, re-solder or replace RF power
amplifier (U101)/ CPU(U401) in turn
3 Add soldering or replace PMIC (U501)
4 Add soldering or replace CPU (U401)

Solution:
1 If WCDMA 900 RX fails, re-solder or replace differential transducer (U204)/ RF power amplifier (U101)/ CPU
(U401) in turn
2 If WCDMA 2100 RX fails, re-solder or replace differential transducer (U205)/ RF power amplifier (U101)/ CPU
(U401) in turn
3 If WCDMA 1900 RX fails, re-solder or replace differential transducer (U206)/ RF power amplifier (U101)/ CPU
(U401) in turn
4 If WCDMA 850 RX fails, re-solder or replace RF power amplifier (U202)/ RF power amplifier (U101)/ CPU
(U401) in turn
5 If WCDMA 900 &850 &1900&2100 TX fails, re-solder or replace differential transducer (U204)/ RF power
amplifier (U203) in turn

14. WIFI/ BT failure

Solution:
1 Check the components soldering on BT/WIFI antenna circuit or the circuit are damaged
2 Add soldering or re-solder or replace CPU U401 and test again

Solution:
1 Check if the filter (U1103) and its soldering is damaged
2 Check if the filter (U1103) and RF LNA chip (U1102) and their soldering are damaged
3 Add soldering or re-solder or replace CPU U401, and test again

16. FM failure

Solution:
1 Replace the earphone and test again FM function
2 Check if the earphone socket has soldering deviation, high floating or is damaged
3 Replace there is any component and its soldering is damaged on the earphone antenna circuit
4 Add soldering or replace CPU U401

17. Fail to identify earphone/Handset MIC failure

Solution:
1 Replace the earphone socket and test again the earphone function
2 Check if the earphone socket has soldering deviation, high floating or is damaged
3 Check if the related components of earphone are obviously poorly soldered or the earphone socket is
damaged
4 Measure EINT_EAR voltage before and after the earphone cable is inserted; voltage before: 1.8V/ voltage
after: 0V
5 Replace the earphone socket and test again
6 Replace CPU (U401)

18. MIC no sound/small sound

Solution:
1 Measure if the main MICs supply voltage(MICBIAS0) is normal
2 Visually inspect if MICs related tiny components (B722 & B723) and their soldering are damaged
3 Replace the MIC and test again, notice high temperature will damage the MIC when replacing
4 Add soldering or re-solder or replace PMIC (U501) PMIC and test again

19. Receiver no sound


Solution:
1 Re-assemble or replace the receiver and test again
2 Visually inspect if the components on receiver circuit and their soldering are damaged
3 Add soldering or re-solder or replace U702 Audio PA
4 Add soldering or replace PMIC (U601) and test again

20. Speaker no sound

Solution:
1 Re-assemble speaker with connector or replace the speaker
2 Visually insect the related components and their soldering, such as the speaker connector B701/B702
3 Add soldering or re-solder or replace U701 Audio PA
4 Add soldering or replace PMIC (U501)

21. Fail to identify SIM card

Solution:
1 Re-insert or replace the SIM cards and test again
2 Visually inspect if the SIM card socket has soldering deviation, high floating or is damaged
3 Measure the SIM supply voltage (VSIM1_PMU ,VSIM2_PMU)
4 Add soldering or re-solder PMIC (U501)
5 Add soldering or re-solder CPU (U401)

22. Fail to identify T-flash card

Solution:
1 Re-insert or replace the T-flash card and test again
2 Visually inspect if the T-flash card socket has soldering deviation, high floating or is damaged
3 Measure the T-flash sockets supply voltage (VIO18_PMU)
4 Re-solder or replace PMIC (U501)
5 Re-solder or replace CPU (U401)
