INVITATION
Dear Colleagues,
With the advent of cold winter when the nature will be shedding its green, the
dental fraternity will be looking forward for the gala event of the season-the
53rdAnnual Conference of Indian Dental Association West Bengal State Branch to
warm our hearts and paint our minds with new colours. The program, scheduled to
be held on and from 15th December to 17th December, 2017 at Biswa Bangla
Convention Centre, New Town Kolkata, will be more significant and memorable one
as Dentistry in India is going to enter its Centenary Year since Dr Rafiuddin Ahmed,
the Father of Dentistry in India, started the journey in 1920. To commemorate this
glorious event, we have left no stones unturned to make it a grand success. We hope
you will cherish to be a part of this mega event which will hold seminars by
international Keynote Speakers, National Scholars from different states and
obviously the Stalwarts of Dentistry of our own state along with delegate papers by
budding dentists, UG and PG paper by the dynamic students and the jubilant
Cultural Program by the young souls. The program is going to be a unique platform
where old will meet the new to interact and exchange their scientific views to gain
knowledge and also to enjoy each others presence to be remembered in future.
Your active and wholehearted participation will not only make the event an
indelible one but also motivate us to carry forward the legacy which was handed over
to us by a great soul, Dr Rafiuddin Ahmed. Long Live Indian Dental Association.

Abstract submission rules for paper and E-Poster presentation
(Upto 30/11/2017 at 23.59 hrs)
1. All free paper (IDA Doctor members) abstracts are to be submitted to
53wbidaconference.freepaper@gmail.com
2. All paper abstracts from PGTs are to be submitted to 53wbidaconference.pgpaper@gmail.com
3. All UG(2nd year to final year BDS, internee) paper abstracts are to be submitted to
53wbidaconference.ugpaper@gmail.com
4. All poster abstracts from PGTs are to be submitted to 53wbidaconference.pgposter@gmail.com
5. All poster abstracts from UG (2nd year to final year BDS, internee) are to be submitted to

6. Abstracts should be of maximum 180 words (including space) as an email.
7. A photo 3.5cm4.5cm, in .jpeg format should be sent as attachment to respective email ids.
8. No word documents should be attached.
9. Name of the Presenter (only one), year of study, name of the college, name of the Guide, designation should
be clearly written. PGTs should write the name of stream and the year at the beginning of the subject of
e-mail, i.e. submitting an abstract from 2nd year PGT of Dept. of Periodontics should have the subject of
e-mail as : Perio-2nd-name of the topic in short.
Paper presentation rules:
1. Paper presentation duration 8+2 minutes for UG and PGTs.
2. Free paper presentation duration 18+2 minutes.
3. Power Point presentations are to be made.
4. Maximum 15 slides (slide size: onscreen show 4:3, 25.4 cm 19.05 cm; orientation: landscape) are
allowed for UG and PGT paper.
5. Maximum 30 slides (slide size: on screen show 4:3, 25.4 cm 19.05 cm; orientation: landscape) are
allowed for free paper.
6. One Video clip (if any) of duration of maximum 20 secs are allowed for UG and PG Papers and video clip
should be compatible with the system provided. Organizers will not take any responsibility if the clip does
not run during presentation.
7. Two Video clips (if any) of duration of maximum 40 secs are allowed for Free Papers and video clip should
be compatible with the system provided. Organizers will not take any responsibility if the clip does not
run during presentation.
8. Animation should be avoided during transition of slides, while animations can be used inside slides.
E-Poster Presentation rules:
1. Power Point presentation comprising of one slide is to be made (slide size: onscreen show 4:3, 25.4 cm
19.05 cm; orientation : landscape)
Quiz Contest Rules:
1. Colleges are requested to send the names of two member teams for the quiz contest.
2. Last date for submission of participation: 10th December '17.

4. Quiz will be based on dental subjects only.
