RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents the research methodology that the

researchers utilized in this study. It includes the research design, research

respondents, research instruments, research procedure and statistical

treatment.

This study used the descriptive-quantitative design to find out the

impact of microfinance institutions on the business operation of market

vendors.

Research Respondents

Part V, the respondents were asked to rate the items using a six-point

scale: 5 very serious, 4 serious, 3 average, 2 less serious, 1 not

The questionnaire was validated. Then, the researchers distributed

the survey questionnaires to the respondents and retrieved afterwards.

Lastly, the data were interpreted and presented in this study.

Statistical Treatment

All data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social

Science (SPSS). Descriptive statistics were employed such as frequency

distribution and percentage for the respondents profile, and business

profile. The mean was utilized to determine the extent of microfinance

institutions on the business operation of the respondents in terms of

profitability and productivity and to determine the challenges encountered

by the respondents. Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was utilized to

determine the significant difference on the extent of microfinance

institutions contribution on business operation when analyzed according

to the business profile.
