Detecting trends will determine outcome of student retention. It is important to track student

progress by determining student progress. Once we can determine what motivates students in reaching

their education goals of completing college. Retention is the key to motivating students to continue with

their education. What motivates student learning is transitioning their progress as a student.

The trend of recruiting first time full/part time students to go to college is within range. The

average college student who attends college are young students straight out of high school up to age 24.

There is a lower percentage of interest for adults over 25 years of age. Often the student motivation is

high for the student to return to the college and continue with taking classes. The student is motivated

by distributing awards for attending college. The enrollment distribution remains average upon

graduates upon completion.

Upon entering college, seventy five percent of college students will do well in English, Math,

Social Science and Science. In fact, within the past two years, the average high student who performed

well on the ACT did well in their classes.

The graduation rate for first time-part time college students to receive a certificate or an

associate degree in three years with a 5% edge over full-time student graduation rate. Transfer students

who transferred into college at 58%. The average college student takes 6 years to complete a bachelor

degree. The average time to complete a bachelor degree first time/part time is slightly higher for the

college student that to be a first time/full time college student. Sixty percent of college students

returned to college for the next semester. The enrollment distribution rate is higher amongst whites

than minorities.

The vocational strategy for the college student involves being engaged on their education goals

of graduating from college and finding a career. It is important to maintain student progress by

continually recruit, maintain motivation and retention to stay in school sot the student will advance

towards college completion. It is important for the college student to find a degree program that works

for them. The average college student wants to graduate on time. It is important to keep the students

who want to earn a degree to stay motivated, so they can succeed.

The job outlook included in meeting trends is matching education to occupation. The job market

is what keeps students motivated in finding a major that will get them a job. The types of jobs the

market is asking for is in Civil, Electric, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Technology, Administration,

Industrial and Medical, Clinical laboratory technicians. It is important for the student to major in a career

that is available once they finish college. Students are getting jobs after completion of their degrees in

nursing, technicians and engineering.
