Synopsis On Jyotish Shastra

Astrology is derived from Aster(Start) and Logos(Logic).


Broad term of astrololgy can be defined as "Practical application of Astronomy"

Astrlogy/Jyotish Shastra is said to be science of foretelling the regular


movementes of planets,fortunes & mis fortunes of men,nation and other incidents.
By Dr Raman , Astrology connects time ,space and matter toghether and demonstrates
the synchronistic as well as deterministic principles.

Astrology can broadaly divided into these


1)Hora
2)Siddhanta
3)Samhita
4)Shakuna
5)Horary Astrology

Hora:
Hora originally formed by Term AHOSHATRA which means day and night.It concers
itself with the life of human beings based on horoscope for the moment of Birth in
relation to place of birth.

Siddhanta:
Its the method of determining the position of heavenly bodies in theire
moevement.It can further be subdivided into.
1) Surya Siddhanta
2) Romaka Siddhanta
3) Paulisha Siddhanta
4) Vashishtha Siddhanta
5) Pitamah Siddhanta

Samhita:
It deals with planetry motions and there effects on weather/commodties/agricultural
products/storms/political changes/wars etc.

Shakuna
Its not directly related to astrology as it does not deal with science of planatery
motions. Its basically deals with people beliefs.

Horary:
Horary astrology basically deals with specifc questions at the very moment.

Clairvoyance & Intuition are considered not be part of astrology as astrology is a


science based on precise calculation of planets which cannot go wrong.
