ORACLE APPLICATION S

CHART OF ACCOUN TS CHAN GE SERVICE

Oracle A pplications customers today have benefitted tremendously after implementing Oracle
A pplications as a system to provide them with quick information to aid decision making and
staying ahead of competition in their core line of business.

For various business reasons, there comes a time when a customer has a need to change the
structure of their Chart of A ccounts (COA ). Under normal conditions, the possible approach
is to enter into a re-implementation exercise, either within the same release or a higher release of
Oracle A pplications. This option often is cost ineffective and time consuming. The other option
is to have the COA changed programmatically.

Leveraging on the speed, convenience and value advantage of its offshore model of consulting,
Oracle Solution Services India (SSI) offers a Chart of A ccounts Change Service to perform a
trial COA change within Oracle facilities, leaving only testing and production run to be
performed on-site at the customer facilities.

for a fixed scope of work. The service is optimized to be both cost and time effective
by best utilizing the expertise of readily available skilled consultants, use of automated
techniques and well-established methods. Internally developed tools are used to
programmatically alter the structure (add, delete, re-sequence, merge, split and extend
segments) of the COA within the entire database.

The project is executed in phases as follows:

Phase 1: Customer provides the inputs specified above.

Phase 2: Oracle SSI works offshore to perform a test COA using tools and methods as
described above. At the end of this phase, the complete deployment strategy is defined
and documented.

Phase 3: A copy of the changed environment is shipped back to the customer for on-
site testing. Optionally, access to the environment can be provided to customer, to test
