ABSTRAK
Latar belakang : Permasalahan pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik adalah
masalah utama yang sering terjadi dalam pelayanan keperawatan di Indonesia. Permasalahan tersebut perlu penanganan khusus untuk mencegah berbagai dampak yang tidak diharapkan pada klien. Upaya pendidikan dan pelatihan untuk meningkatkan pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik sudah dilaksanakan, namun belum mendapatkan hasil yang optimal sehingga perlu inovasi diantaranya dengan intervensi coaching. Tujuan : Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis pengaruh coaching terhadap pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik Metode : Desain penelitian quasi eksperimen dengan pre and post test control group. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Jumlah sampel 32 responden terdiri dari 16 responden kelompok perlakuan dan 16 responden kelompok kontrol. Hasil : Analisis uji paired t test menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh coaching terhadap pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik pada kelompok perlakuan (p value = 0,000) dengan selisih rata-rata lebih besar (75,32 dan 26,62) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (18,81 dan 11,44). Hasil analisis uji independent t test menunjukkan perbedaan pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik kedua kelompok. Pada pre-test tidak ada perbedaan rata-rata (p value 0,261 dan 0,962), sedangkan pada post-test terdapat perbedaan rata-rata (p value 0,000 dan 0,000). Simpulan dan saran : Terdapat pengaruh coaching terhadap pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik. Disarankan kepada rumah sakit untuk menggunakan coaching dalam meningkatkan pelaksanaan komunikasi terapeutik.

Background: The problem of therapeutic communication implementation is the
main issue that frequently happens in Indonesia nursing services. The problem needs a special treatment to prevent unexpected effects on clients. Education and training efforts in enhancing therapeutic communication implementation have been realized, however it did not get optimal result yet so that innovation is highly needed, especially coaching intervention. Purpose: This research is to comprehend and analyze the influence of coaching towards therapeutic communication implementation. Method: Research design utilizes semi-experiment with pre and post-test control group. Sampling method is by using Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The total of sample is 32 respondents comprising of 15 respondents from treatment group and 16 respondents from control group. Result: Testing analysis using paired t test reveals that the influence of coaching toward therapeutic communication implementation on treatment group is there (p value = 0,000) which its mean difference (75,32 and 26,62) higher than control group (18,81 and 11,44). Result of testing analysis using independent t test shows the difference of therapeutic communication implementation on both groups. On pre-test, there is no mean difference (p value 0,261 and 0,962), while on post-test, mean difference is there (p value 0,000 and 0,000). Conclusion and Suggestion: Influence of coaching towards therapeutic communication implementation is there. It is suggested for hospital to use coaching in order to enhance therapeutic communication implementation.
