7. LITUGY OF THE HOLY WORD

FIRST READING (Joe Anand)
A Reading from the book of Proverbs 31: 10 -13, 19 20, 30 -31

Blessed the husband of a good wife, twicelengthened are his days; a worthy wife
brings joy to her husband, peaceful and full is his life. A good wife is a
generous gift bestowed upon him who fears the Lord; be he rich or poor, his heart
is content, and smile is ever on his face. A gracious wife delights her husband,
her thoughtfulness puts flesh on his bones; a gift from the LORD is her governed
speech, and her firm virtue is of surpassing worth. Choicest of blessing is a
modest wife, priceless her chaste soul. A holy and decent woman, adds grace upon
grace; indeed, no price is worthy of her temperate soul. Like the sun rising in the
Lords heavens, the beauty of virtuous wife is the radiance of her home.
The Word of the lord
All: Thanks to be god.

RESPOSORIAL PSALM
Holy are you Lord, Your mercies never end
You provide for our needs, Youre more than a friend
Your grace is so unchanging, Youre faithful and true
Lord I love You (2)
Chorus
Love one another; as Jesus loves you (2)

Your love for me is great, no matter what I do

Help me to love my neighbor, to be more like You
My life I want to be a reflection of You
Lord I love You. (2)
Ch: Love one another; As Jesus loves You (2)

SECOND READING: (Maria Viani)

A reading from the letter of Saint Paul to the Colossians: 3:12-21

As the chosen of God, then, the holy people of God whom He loves, you are to be
clothed in heart-felt compassion, in generosity and humility, gentleness and
patience. Bear with one another; forgive each other, if one of you has a complaint
against another. The Lord has forgiven you: now you must do the same. Over all
these, put on love, the perfect bond. And may the peace of Christ, reign in your
hearts; because it is for this that you were called together in one body. Always be
thankful. Let the Word of God, in all its richness, find a home with you. Teach
each other and advice each other in all wisdom. With gratitude in your hearts, sing
psalms and hymns and inspired songs to God; and whatever you say or do, let it be
in the name of the Lord Jesus, in thanksgiving to God and the Father through him.
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as you should in the Lord. Husbands love your
wives and do not be sharp with them.
The word of the lord
All: Thanks to be god.

GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia to the Lamb
Alleluia, alleluia, by the Blood of Christ we stand,
Every tongue, every tribe, every people, every land
Giving glory, giving honour
Giving praise unto the Lamb of God (2)

Jesus Christ, Lamb of God

GOSPEL READING
Celebrant: The Lord be with you
All: And with you spirit
Celebrant: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to St. John 15:7- !7
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will
be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so
prove to be my disciples .As the father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in
my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have
kept my Fathers commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to
you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. This is my
commandment, that you love another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one
than this that someone lays down his life for his friends. You are my friends if
you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does
not know what his master is doing: but I have called you friends, for all that I
have heard from my Father, I have made known to you. You have not chosen me, But I
have chosen you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your
fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, He may give it
to you. These things I command you, so that you will love one another.
The Gospel of the lord
All: Praise to you Lord, Jesus Christ

LIGHTING OF THE CANDLE

Commentator: This unity candle represents Christ, the light of our lives and the
light in Joe and Maria, which from today, will burn ever brighter by the grace of
the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. May this candle remind you of the Divine sanctity
of the sacrament of marriage which both of you freely partake. Christ will be your
pillar of strength and courage, in times of trial and need. The flames of your own
candles, symbols of your individual lives, hall no longer burn as two separate
flames, but as one, symbolizing your unity in the Lord. May it bring Christian
warmth, to all who enter your home. At this moment, let us pray to the Lord, to
unite the families of Christuraj and Lourduraj in friendship, love and happiness

14. EUCHARISTIC PRAYER III

Celebrant: You are indeed Holy, O Lord and all You have created rightly gives You
praise, for through Your Son our Lord Jesus Christ, by the power and working of the
Holy Spirit, You give life to all things and make them holy, and You never cease to
gather a people to Yourself, so that from the rising of the sun to its setting a
pure sacrifice may be offered to Your name. Therefore, O Lord, we humbly implore
You: by the same Spirit graciously make holy those gifts we have brought to You for
consecration, that they may become the Body and + Blood of your Son, Jesus Christ
at whose command we celebrate these mysteries.
For on the night he was betrayed He himself took bread, and giving You thanks he
said the blessing , broke the bread and gave it to His disciples, saying TAKE THIS,
ALL OF YOU,AND EAT OF IT; FOR THIS IS MY BODY WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.
In a similar way, when supper was ended, He took the chalice and giving You thanks
He said the blessing and gave the chalice to His disciples saying. TAKE THIS ALL OF
YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT; FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE BLOOD OF THE NEW
AND ETERNAL COVENANT; WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR MANY FOR THE
FORGIVENESS OF SINS. DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.
Celebrant: The mystery of faith

MAJESTY
CHOIR:
Majesty, worship His majesty
Unto Jesus, be all glory, power and praise
Majesty, worship his majesty
Jesus who died, now glorified, king of all kings-(2)

Celebrant: Therefore O Lord, we celebrate the memorial of the saving Passion of

Your Son, His wondrous Resurrection and Ascension into heaven, and as we look
forward to His second coming, we offer You in thanksgiving this holy and living
sacrifice.

Lord we pray, upon the oblation of Your Church, and recognizing the sacrificial
Victim by whose death You willed to reconcile us to Yourself, grant that we, who
are nourished by the Body and Blood of Your Son and filled with his Holy Spirit,
may become one body, one spirit in Christ.
May he make of us an eternal offering to You, so that we may obtain an in-
heritance with Your elect, especially with the most blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of
God, with saint Joseph her husband, Your blessed Apostles and glorious Martyrs,
especially with Saint John Bosco, St. Antony, Saint John Maria Viani and with all
the saints, on whose constant intercession in Your presence we rely for unfailing
help.

May this Sacrifice of our reconciliation we pray, O Lord, advance the peace and
salvation of all the world. Be pleased to confirm in faith and charity Your pilgrim
Church on earth, with Your servant Francis, our Pope and George Antonisamy- our
Bishop, the order of Bishops , all the clergy and the entire people You have gained
for Your own. Listen graciously to the prayers of this family, whom You have
summoned before You, in your compassion, O merciful Father, gather to Yourself all
Your children scattered throughout the world.
To Our departed brothers and sisters especially the departed members of joe and
marias family and to all who were pleasing to you at their passing from this
life, give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we hope to enjoy forever the
fullness of your glory through Christ our Lord through whom You bestow on the world
all that is good.

Our Father in Heaven, Holy be your name.

NUPTIAL BLESSING (Couple to kneel)

Celebrant: My dear friends, let us turn to the Lord and pray that He will bless
with His grace, Maria Viani now married in Christ to Joe Anand and that through the
Sacrament of the Body and Blood of Christ, He will unite in love the couple He has
joined in this holy bond.
( All pray silently for a short while. Then the Celebrant extends his hands and
continues)
Father, by your power You have made everything out of nothing. In the beginning You
created the universe and made mankind in Your own likeness. You gave man the
constant help of woman so that man and woman should no longer be two, but one
flesh, and You teach us that what You have united may never be divided. Father, You
have made the union of man and wife so holy a mystery that it symbolizes the
marriage of Christ and hisChurch. Father by Your plan man and woman are united and
married life has been established as the one blessing that was not forfeited by
original sin or washed away in the Blood. Look with love upon this woman, your
daughter, now joined to her husband in marriage. She asks Your blessing. Give her
the grace of love and peace. May she always follow the example of the holy women
whose praises are sung in the scriptures. May her husband put his trust in her and
recognize that she is his equal and the heir with him to the life of grace. May he
always honour her and love her as Christ loves His bride, the Church. Father, keep
them always true to Your commandments. Keep them faithful in marriage and let them
be living example of Christian life. Give them the strength which comes from the
Gospel so that they may be witnesses of Christ to others. Bless them with children
and help them to be good parents. May they live to see their childrens children.
And after a happy old age, grant them fullness of life with the saints in the
kingdom of heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen
