SMG is issuing this Request for Proposal seeking a Naming Rights Partner to associate a corporate name
with the brand new, state-of-the-art Albuquerque Regional Sports Complex (ARSC).
Background
SMG is the manager of a facility commonly known as the Albuquerque Regional Sports Complex (ARSC),
located at 1801 Arroyo Vista Blvd. NW, Albuquerque, NM. 87120, which is owned by the City of
Albuquerque. The brand new Albuquerque Regional Sports Complex (ARSC) features 5 all-turf fields that
can be adjusted to accommodate baseball, softball and little league teams. Perfect for hosting
tournaments or league play, the ARSC will have 5 collegiate level baseball fields with high school level
field lighting. Each field is made up of entirely synthetic turf and includes bullpens and home/visitor
dugouts. Bleacher seating with shade canopies at each field will provide spectators a great view of the
game. Also on-site is a multi-purpose building with a full concession stand, press boxes, locker rooms,
and an event room on the second level with incredible 360-degree views of the Rio Grande Valley.
Purpose
The City’s commitment to build this world-class facility is a key reason that the National Senior Games
chose Albuquerque to host the 2019 Games. The three-week event is expected to bring $45 million in
revenue, more than paying off the City’s $21 million investment.
With five fully lit turfed fields, on-site batting cages and grandstand seating, the Regional Sports
Complex was planned from the start to be a championship-level facility for our own local baseball and
softball teams that would also attract regional tournaments. But thanks to $2 million in cost savings, the
complex also includes:
The complex will also include a central multi-purpose building to house concessions, restrooms, a
community meeting room, umpire locker rooms, four press boxes, and a viewing area.
“Local families spend thousands of dollars every year traveling out of state for youth sports,” said City
Councilor Dan Lewis. “A facility like this, combined with our great weather, will attract high-level
tournaments year 'round.”

The complex is located on 81 acres of City-owned property at Arroyo Vista Boulevard and High Mesa
Drive, just west of the new APS community stadium. This facility will expand recreational opportunities
for citizens and attract sports tourism to Albuquerque, equating to more hotel room nights sold, more
visits to shops and restaurants, and a boost to the local economy.
This $17.8 million bond-funded project will be completed in late 2017. The design for the fields was
developed through a task force of local sports and recreational experts working with architects from
Consensus Planning and G. Donald Dudley Architects.
II. Benefits
Listed below are the benefits that will be made to the successful Respondent.
The name of the new Albuquerque Regional Sports Complex which is proposed by the successful
Respondent and approved by SMG will be the exclusive name of the facility in all official facility
references during the term of the agreement. It is expected that the title of the “Albuquerque Regional
Sports Complex” remain, but will be referred to as “XYZ Company presents the Albuquerque Regional
Sports Complex” or “Albuquerque Regional Sports Complex presented by XYZ Company” in all official
references. Additionally, the successful Respondent will have the right to create and develop a proposed
logo for the facility, incorporating the existing ARSC logo, which is subject to approval by SMG.
