Procedure:
Part 1: Using the function generator on the analog/digital trainer, oscilloscope, and the DMM.
a. Calculate each period by using the particular frequencies from the table below.
b. Setup the function generator to generate the sine wave with 250 Hz frequency by
using the DMM to measure the frequency.
c. Measure the period by using the oscilloscope.
d. Calculate the frequency from the period that gets from part c.
e. Measure the peak-to-peak voltage by using the oscilloscope.
f. Calculate the peak voltage from the peak-to-peak voltage that was obtained from part
e.
g. Calculate the effective voltage from the peak voltage that was obtained from part f.
h. Measure the effective voltage by using the DMM.
i. Repeat the procedure with each waveform and frequency from the corresponding
table below.
Note: Veff = 0.707 x Vp for sine wave, Veff = 0.577 x Vp for triangular wave, and Veff = Vp for square wave.
Part 2: Use the Heath 1274 Function Generator, the oscilloscope, and the DMM and apply
waveforms across a 1 MΩ resistor as shown in figure 1 below.
