The annual Kids Fun Day on December
16, 2017 at Prouds Suva Central and
Prouds Downtown Nadi was a great
success.
Children of different age groups came
in numbers to meet Santa Claus and
also took advantage of the free face
painting on offer.
“My son Nirav felt so happy to see Santa
Claus. It is was very entertaining and
the face painting was very unique
and nice as well,” said customer Ms
Ravina Chand.
Another mother Ms Fauzia who was on
holiday from New Zealand with her
family said the event was very inter-
esting and they took a lot of pictures

Chunmun
Sixty-two-year-old Rajendra Kumar has spent two-thirds of his life
working for the company he loves.
Commonly known as “Chunmun” amongst colleagues, family and
friends, Mr Kumar started with Motibhai Group as a gardener in 1977
and has never looked back ever since.
“Back in those days I used to harvest around 150 tonnes of cane
at my farm annually. However, to give my three children a better life,
I knew I had to find a job to secure a fixed source of income,” Mr
Kumar said.
“This is when I was able to find a job in the newly built Motibhai
Group head-office in Nasoso, Nadi as a gardener,” Mr Kumar said.
“I still remember the day I was interviewed for the job by our for-
mer chairman Mr Mahendra Patel and his brother Arvind. Getting a
secured job was one of the best things that happened in my life.”
After working as a full-time gardener and handyman for a few
years, Mr Kumar was promoted to the transport division where his
main job required him to drive for company directors.
“I used to take our directors around for their meetings and business
runs and also used to pick children from school and do errands in the
greater Nadi area,” Mr Kumar said.
“It is so pleasing to see the children I used to pick from school have
all grown up and are doing well in the business and their respective
fields of choice – it gives me a lot of satisfaction.
“With a fixed source of income from my job, I have been able to
buy a new piece of land after my cane farm got reserved. I also built
a new house and educated my two daughters up to form seven level
while my son has a bachelor’s degree from University of the South
Pacific.”
When asked how he managed to work for so long in the company,
Mr Kumar said that the bosses at Motibhai Group are very good.
“We have the best bosses, they are very humble and always care
about staff members – that is what made me spend the better part of
my life with the company.”
Mr Kumar is a real inspiration and a living testimony of hard work
and dedication. He attained his primary school education at Togo
Bhartiya School and attended Nadi College up to form four for sec-
ondary school education respectively.
He has driving licence from group 1 - 9.
