1. Geographic Location
The city of Chimbote, known in the world for its fishing activity and production,
is located in Peru to the North West of the country at 431 km. of Lima and only
210 km. of Huaraz.
Chimbote is a beautiful crescent, flanked to the north by the Cerro de Chimbote,
to the south by the peninsula hill and to the west by the islands Ferrol and Blanca.
With a current population of over 600,000, Chimbote is characterized by a
prodigious production of canned fish and fishmeal, steel in the various
characteristics, as well as a variety of agricultural products (corn, cotton, rice,
beans, asparagus, Vegetables and legumes).

2. Weather
Due to its location in the tropics and the presence of the Andes, the Peruvian
coastal zone, in which Chimbote is located, presents a subtropical desert climate,
with almost no precipitation. The temperature ranges between 28 ° C in summer
and 13 ° C in winter. The winds are constant throughout the year, predominantly
in the southwest direction, at a speed of 30 to 40 km / h.

From the city of Chimbote, on especially clear days (between May and
November) you can see the snowy Huascarán (in the Cordillera Blanca) in the
east direction, through the Pamparomás pass, and Coñocranra (in the Cordillera
Negra) in North-east direction. Both mountains are the highest of their respective
mountain ranges. Huascarán is the highest point in Peru.

3. Population

A large number of people migrated to Chimbote in the early 1970s. By that time,
less than 5 percent of the people from Chimbote would truly consider themselves
native; between 1960 and 1970, Chimbote's population multiplied by more than a
hundred times. In 1900, the population of the port was 1,400; after 1970, it was
170,000. As of 2005, its population was 324,398. Chimbote currently estimates
its population of around 500,000.

BASIC CONVERSATION I

CONCLUSION

 In conclusion, I can say that the fishing in Chimbote is an activity of vital

importance for the development of our country since it contributes a good part to
the national and local development.

 There is a great tourism potential that can be exploited from promoting

development policies for general employment based on local tourism.

 Chimbote is a perfect city to have fun with your family, for their different
beaches and recreation but sometimes the air is polluted by fish meal factories,
even so, the people are very friendly the gastronomy is good especially ceviche
it is my favorite dish for lunch or dinner.
