Student information
HLTAID003 Provide first aid includes two components in order for students to achieve competency.
Both the theory and practical components must be completed successfully before you can be deemed
competent for this unit.
1. At Session 1 of your course all students will be given the First Aid textbook, answers booklet and
answer sheet to complete which MUST be returned to trainers by Session 2.
2. At session 2 your trainer will collect your theory assessment answers with a 1 week turnaround to
mark.
3. At session 3 your trainer will provide students with feedback on the theory assessment to ensure all
students are either satisfactory or notify if a resubmit is required. If students are not satisfactory
on particular questions, you MUST provide your second attempt at those questions to your trainer
by the end of Session 3 or scanned/emailed prior to next session.
4. Session 4 is the Practical First Aid. Times for day class - 9.00am to 4.30pm - or if night class from
5pm – 9pm. Practical will occur at session 4 in all timetables.
5. After session 4 we will identify any students who are not in a position to continue in the Pathology
practicals or Aged Care & Health Services placement
