Dear Ma’am/Sir

My name is Antonio Concepcion and I am applying for a scholarship for the degree of
Contemporary Music Performance. I am currently in 12th to graduate on March 2015. I come
from a family of five and I am the only child brought up in the Waldorf education. As a Waldorf
student I was taught to find the importance of arts and the humanities in general, which led me
to find my passion in music. It is my dream to pursue contemporary music performance,
however, there is no program that offers this in my country. It is also difficult to pursue the arts
in my country; most sustainable jobs here require a college degree.

While in high school I immersed myself in music by participating in musical activities such as
performing in different schools with my band and playing accompaniment for students in
school performances. I am often asked by the school to lead guitar ensemble class whenever
the conductor is unavailable. As I focused on music still managed to be one of the top students
in my class.

After I graduate from high school, I plan to get my degree in Contemporary Music Performance
degree in your university. It is too costly for my family to pay for my tuition in the university, I
do intend to work but that will only be enough to pay for my lodging. Granted with this
scholarship I will have more opportunities to pursue my music career.

Thank you for considering my application, I look forward to studying in your university and
pursue my dream.

Sincerely,

Antonio Concepcion
